A VENOM Sequel Is All But Guaranteed As The Movie Is Projected To Top JUSTICE LEAGUE's Worldwide Haul
Those of you who enjoyed Venom can seemingly bank on getting to see a sequel become a reality because the latest box office projections point to its eventual worldwide haul being very impressive indeed.
While Venom debuted to negative reviews, moviegoers have responded positively to Sony's first live-action Spider-Verse spinoff and even though a lot of comic book fans didn't seem to like it, most would be happy to see Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock go to war with Woody Harrelson's Carnage in a sequel. Well, that may be all but confirmed based on the latest box office projections for the Marvel Comics movie.
Apparently, passing $550 million is pretty much a guarantee at this point and when it reaches China on November 9th, Venom should reach as much as $600 million, later beating the final box office hauls of both Logan and Ant-Man and The Wasp. The former received rave reviews and the latter was set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which pretty much ensures it would be a hit based on past experience).
Venom is in good company then and it will more than likely top Justice League as well, not a bad result considering the fact Sony only actually spent $100 million on it. Regardless of whether you loved or hated it, if Sony takes on board the complaints made by fans and critics and handle Carnage the right way, we could be in for a treat when and if the sequel is eventually released in the near future.
