VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Star Woody Harrelson Wasn't A Fan Of His "Amateur" Wig In 2018's VENOM

Woody Harrelson has shared his thoughts on Cletus Kasady's new look in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, revealing that he felt the wig used in Venom's post-credits scene was "a bit amateur." Check it out!

We first met Woody Harrelson's Cletus Kasady in Venom's post-credits scene, and while Eddie Brock crossing paths with the man who would one day became Carnage was a big deal, that wasn't the biggest talking point. Instead, the actor's ridiculous wig was all anyone focused on, and the Carrot Top comparisons probably weren't what Sony Pictures was hoping for.

Thankfully, the villain has a new, grounded look in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Harrelson's wig looks more cool than cringeworthy.

Talking to IGN, the actor was asked to share his thoughts on Cletus' hairstyle change between movies and whether he had any say in the new wig. "In the first one, I didn't like that wig," Harrelson confirmed. "That was pretty uh...that was a bit amateur. I liked what we did in the second one."

Of course, what most fans will be excited to see is the actor's transformation into Carnage, one of the greatest Spider-Man villains to ever grace the page. What little we've seen of him in action in the trailers has definitely impressed, and it looks like director Andy Serkis has embraced the comic books. Even with a PG-13 rating, we're expecting maximum carnage in the upcoming sequel.

As for Harrelson, he's no doubt happy not to be decked out in another embarrassing wig (we still don't know what Ruben Fleischer was thinking back in 2018).

@Razorface1 - I think he's implying that Harrelson should have said it at the time so that he may have gotten another wig

I like the goofy wig.

If some psycho was willing to do that to himself, just imagine what he'd be willing to do to you.

Mostly off-topic, but Venom is Spidey-adjacent. I just love this kid's videos, and if you've got a minute, it's a great watch.

I wish more people would have this kind of holistic view of the Spider-Man character. There's room to love Raimi if you want to love Raimi (and of course those movies are crucial in transitioning superheroes to blockbuster dominance), but on a fundamental level, Raimi just didn't seem to get the comics he was adapting. As an old-school fan, that's what rubs me the wrong way about them, because Raimi's Peter just isn't Peter Parker to me. (And I think a lot of people grew up with Raimi's Peter and now they're repulsed by all of the other interpretations, even if they are more faithful.)

Should've kept the wig. It perfectly captures how dumb this movie is going to be.

There have been a lot of awful wigs in cinematic history, and the wig from the first Venom earned its spot amongst them

Ummmm did he not see the one he wears in the sequel? It’s just as bad.

he’s woefully miscast, anyway. Honestly, I think Michael Mando would have been an interesting spin on the character but I appreciate them keeping his red hair.
