ASSASSIN'S CREED: ORIGINS Director Would Make A New IRON MAN Video Game "In A Heartbeat"

Ashraf Ismail, the acclaimed director of award-winning Assassin's Creed: Origins, has revealed that he would make a brand new video game based on the adventures of Marvel's Iron Man "in a heartbeat..."

Marvel Games, the video games division of Marvel Entertainment, has not been pulling any punches recently. The company's new strategy to work with the "best game companies" is already paying off big time, as Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man is not only one of the highest reviewed games in PlayStation 4's history, but also a best-selling one with 3.3 million copies sold in its first three days.

With Square Enix's Avengers project being developed at Crystal Dynamics (the studio behind the rebooted Tomb Raider series), Nintendo’s Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order (being crafted by Team Ninja, the creators of the Ninja Gaiden franchise), and a mysterious new video game from Second Dinner (founded by the original creators of Blizzard's World of Warcraft and Hearthstone), the future of Marvel Games is brighter than ever after years of releasing panned video game movies.

There's no denying that 2008's Iron Man and 2010's Iron Man 2 were some of the worst video games based on films, but many fans would love to give the Shell-Head another chance in a new game. It looks like those fans are not alone, as Assassin's Creed: Origins Director Ashraf Ismail would not only love to see an all-new video game featuring Tony Stark, but he would even make it "in a heartbeat."

Considering that AC: Origins is one of the best-reviewed games of 2017 (its highest rated [Xbox One] version is currently sitting at a very impressive 85% on review aggregator Metacritic) and Ismail seems to be a pretty big Iron Man fan himself, this potential collaboration could end up giving amazing results.

At the time of writing, Marvel Games had not revealed any plans to make a new Iron Man video game.

Journey into Ancient Egypt, the most mysterious place in history, during a crucial period that will shape the world. Discover the secrets behind the Great Pyramids, forgotten myths, the last pharaohs, and – engraved in long-lost hieroglyphics – the origin story of the Assassin’s Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed Origins is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC NOW!

Looks as though EA/Bioware just ripped off iron man and chucked it into a destiny rip off to give us anthem

For the love of my beautiful God, yes please!

Keep it close to Anthem mechanics

A great Iron Man videogame's long overdue, heck Marvel's stepping up videogames wise is always welcome.

@JosephCronos92 - I've just watched a few minutes of video, but it seems like they still have a distinct flying mode vs. a hovering one (like the Iron Man movie tie-ins did), and that just never feels natural to me.

Truly great Iron Man flight may need to be built from the ground up with a characteristic and intuitive feel to it (similar to how how good Spider-Man webswinging is unique to him as a character, or how Arkham combat or Assassin Creed freerunning felt when they were introduced). That's a lot of work to get right, though.

I guess what I'm thinking of would be like flying a rocket, with a trigger being a throttle. More trigger, more acceleration. And all you really control aside from that is the direction you go, so that to hover, you'd pull the stick all the way back and pull the trigger just enough to keep altitude. Basically a powered-stall.

That's a lot of control/thought just to stay still, true, but if it opens you up to something closer to a flight simulator when flying (as opposed to a floaty jetpack) it could carve out a niche for Iron Man games distict from other 3D sandboxes.

I'd love a GOTG videogame a la Uncharted, but with more content and dynamics, exchanging guardians inbetween the game, upgrading weapons and discovering different paths to finish each levels, using the guardians grand and different abilities to the player's advantage and as a way to continue trough the levels.

I really want a great GOTG videogame.

Since 2013, Marvel hasn't really done much with the Iron Man brand, outside of the Avengers stuff. Trying to make sure that the character remains popular and relevant outside of the MCU, hasn't really been a priority for them.

I would honestly prefer games focused in Thor, Dr Strange or GOTG.

They all for different forms of gameplay and unique environments.

- Thor has his hammer, lighting etc and you can explore the 9 realms.

- strange has magic and can have interdementional travel.

- GOTG would be a groups game (each wiht they own skill set and abilities) and you have the cosmos to explore.

Say it with me: Wol.VE.RINE.
A successor to the origins tie-in is long overdue.
Or heck, make an X-Men game in the vein of X-Men Legends where I can choose the character I want to play with. Just make it more of a close up third person experience.

Maybe it's just me, but I really wanna see more of Iron Man 3's Iron Patriot (yes, I even liked Iron Man 3)

They should do an armor wars themed game.
