Batman: AC Sequel Hints - What Do They All Mean?

What I think about Batman: AC hints to a sequel mean.

Okay, I got Batman:AC a few weeks ago, at 65%! Sadly, my Xbox 360 broke Saturday, so it'll be a month before it gets repaired. Now, I looked at some hints to a sequel, found some myself. So, I'm going to tell you what I think some of them mean.

Hint #1: Harley Quinn's Pregnancy
After I beat the main story, I went back to the Steel Mill to get Riddler Trophies. In the Joker's office, I discovered a positive pregnancy test. After the credits, Harley sings a violent lullaby to, what seems to be, the Joker's child. Now what do I think this means? NOT Terry McGuinness. I think that a teenage Joker Jr. is going to form some sort of gang. Harley Quinn will be leading it, but she is a puppet, helpless to "Li'l J's" command. Batman will investigate this gang, knowing that the Joker is dead, and Harley could never lead it.

Hint #2: Scarecrow's Boat
Using the Cryptographic Sequencer on the hatch of a boat off of the Industrial District opens it. Drop inside, and you see cockroaches in blue tanks, cobwebs everywhere, and a body at the end of the hall. Eerie music plays. Walk down, and zoom in on a piece of paper. It says that Jonathan Crane made an order to Falcone Shipping. He ordered more Fear Gas ingredients, but the interesting part is that he ordered more test subjects. Doesn't Crane already know how to make his Fear Gas to perfection? Could he just take delight in seeing things tortured? Or could he be improving it? Maybe he added something to make it more powerful? Maybe Toxin?

Hint #4: The Hidden Messages
After beating the Main Story, use the Cryptographic Sequencer anywhere. Tune it to certain points, and you can hear numbers being counted off. If you put them through a decoder, it says: "You will pay for what you have done to me. I will return, Batman." A lot of people think that it's Scarecrow saying this. I disagree. I think it's Ra's Al Ghul. It sounds like him saying the letters. Here's another reason.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!

After Hugo Strange destroys Wonder Tower, Batman and Ra's are in free fall. Ra's kills himself, and lands on the AC entrance gate. Later, after you defeat Clayface (Who looked epic) and the final cutscene is over, if you return to the gate, the body is gone. He was probably taken to a second Pit by the League of Shadows. I hope he makes a return, he was a great villain.

That's what I think all the hints mean, what do you think? Leave your opinions in the comments!

Question of the Article: Do you think that Catwoman should be a playable character in the sequel. Or someone else?

I don't see why not have Catwoman there, why not throw in a fear characters that are playable each with their own storylines?

still waiting for the 15th, since I use my laptop (thank you GameStop pre-order). a third game with all the loons loose in Gotham would be epic! just imagine how much space you'd have to roam. and they could finally let us use the Batpod, Batwing, etc. and give Nightwing and Robin missions that are a part of the story (like Catwoman).

who I'd love to see in the sequel:
Batman (playable character)
Catwoman (pc)
Nightwing (pc)
Robin (pc)
Huntress (pc)
Azrael (pc)
Green Arrow (pc)
Joker Jr. (?)
Harley Quinn
Two-Face
Penguin
Ra's Al Ghul
Poison Ivy
Scarecrow
Bane
Mr. Freeze
Clayface
Hush
Black Mask
Solomon Grundy
Riddler
Deadshot
Killer Croc
Prometheus
Mad Hatter
Firefly
Victor Zsasz
Calendar Man
JASON TODD
Damian Wayne
Lady Shiva
Creeper
Reaper
Professor Pyg

There's only one way they can use Harley's child in a sequel set a year or so after Arkham City. That would be if the child in fact wasn't Joker's child. Harley was impregnated by Clayface while he was disguised as Joker. Hence, the baby would have shapeshifting abilities, and could appear to be an adult and Joker-esque villain in the third game.
Perhaps the kid starts using the Lazarus Pits, restoring Ra's Al Ghul and wanting to restore the Joker too. We then find out about another character he's resurrected: Jason Todd, a former Robin who has become the villainous Red Hood.
Azrael's prophesy could also link to this, as they'd have been brought back from the dead, having gone to Hell and back.

Other characters that have to appear are Hush (needs to be a major villain), Two Face (grossly underused in AC), Harley, Riddler, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Poison Ivy, Firefly, Creeper, and Solomon Grundy (again, zombie links to hell theme) and a whole load more. Damian Wayne could be brought into it somehow. In fact, the League of Assassins should have a large role in it.

ok did nobody else see that Clayface fell into the Lazarus pit? im pretty sure clayface is going to have a big impact in the next installment. As for Joker's baby being a villian....i highly doubt it, unless they are going to go with The Dark Knight Returns kinda theme with Batman being way older and Joker's son goes in for revenge, but there is no way he'd be involved that much in the next game. And the numbers spoken dont need to be dychipered after beating the game you can hear them at any point in time after getting the first riddler hostage. Its gonna be scarecrow or a villian we havent seen yet. it would be nice to get Jason Todd involved. We can already say that Hush and Azrael are going to be in the next one cause Bats says he's going after them "tomorrow". Im guessing the next location will be set in Gotham, it would make sense and would add an even BIGGER layout to explore, including Wayne Manor. they definitely need to add some dlc campaign missions for Robin, and Nightwing. they already made some kind of anouncment a while ago they were going to be adding new campaigns to keep this game relevant. its going to be a few years before a new Batman game from rocksteady comes out. they are working on a superman game next (ugh so stupid...superman is lame). but im enjoying this game alot, i am happy i dished out the extra $40 for the collectors edition.

I thought the messages were from Ra's to but then I thought wouldn't he call him Detective?

is it really worth buying? I mean I enjoyed the first one but it was just sooooooo long and got kinda boring after a while!

There's also the potential for the Hush storyline to get involved somewhere.
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/10/2011, 4:09 AM
I think Hush could run Wayne Enterprises to the ground. Would be a good start to a mission, maybe gadget-free and Batsuit-free level. Like in the beginning of AC.

I think first of al that Hush should have a big impact on the sequel with black mask, Ra's and even with Red Hood. And the one who says the speech: "You will pay for what you have done to me. I will return, Batman." i think personaly that thats Red hood voice and i hope so. And as playable charachter for the sequel catwomen should be ok but i would rather have Nightwing and/or Robin too but with a bigger story and game play or even also have a not to big as the main story in the game. That would be awesome!!!

Everyone keeps on saying the hidden message was there after you beat the game, yet I was able to listen to them in the middle of the game. They were there throughout, so it has to be Scarecrow, or someone who is considered dead in the mythology before Arkham City.

BTW, no announcement on Rocksteady working on a Superman game. That was rumor and speculation. Rocksteady has not announced what game they will work on next.

Poison Ivy is going to be the villain in the next game. If you smash the plant in Strange's vault then go back and talk to Ivy after beating the game, she says something about how all of Gotham will pay.

catwoman was fun to play with but nightwing and robin were way better. They left so much open with this game. When the sequel comes out its going to be freaking crazy with or without the joker. Was black mask in the game at all besides in robin challenge maps??

sbdc1939 - 11/10/2011, 8:59 AM
can you imagine a gotham city game. constant civilian activity during missions
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/10/2011, 12:17 PM
@sbdc, It would be cool if Civilians were in constant danger. Maybe you would have to enter extreme stealth mode, because if a civilian sees Batman, he would give away his position. And another thing is that I think that some goons should have rocket launchers.
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/10/2011, 3:40 PM
@Idio, Clayface destroyed the Pit. Why would Joker go after the cure after instead of the Pit? And @ACira, Harley probably wasn't impregnated by Clayface. She might have discovered it days before, and only dropped it that day.
ThreeBigTacos
ThreeBigTacos - 11/10/2011, 6:35 PM
Why does no one think the 'dead joker' was just clay face in disguise again? I mean, the screen blackens out as soon as clayface and joker fall down. WE see batman stagger up as if he was knocked out for a few minutes. Since we never see clayface after he falls into the pit, what if Clay face acted like dead joker, (it was the role of a lifetime right?), not only that but Joker's had that serum in his possession long enough, who's to say he didn't have some of it replicated and saved for himself?
Moakynubs
Moakynubs - 11/10/2011, 6:37 PM
I definitely think that they're going to do a Ra's based game (rather than Arkham). And I believe that Joker Jr. is a clear reference to...

Batman Beyond. The game. Think about it. Bruce will be around 50 when Joker Jr. is 20 (And that's still pretty young...)
Moakynubs
Moakynubs - 11/10/2011, 6:38 PM
Plus, Robin co-op would be sick. They could throw the classic "Double punch" in if you synchronize your attacks just right.

The Story was REALLY short
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/11/2011, 3:16 AM
@Moaky, Yeah, I think that there should be Robin or Nightwing co-op. Robin could distract an enemy while Batman Glide Kicks another, So that enemy doesn't attack Batman after and make your life harder. Maybe Robin is faster but has less health. Batman is slower and has more health.

Does anyone else have a feeling that all Clayface wanted was to get out of Arkham which is why he agreed to help Joker?

^if that was the case he could of possed as a cop or as one of strange's guards.

they should have the batwing possibly in the sequel

maybe nightwing as a possible character

Expand on the azrael parts and the league of assasins

also i never realised that Joker possibly survived that

would make more sense then bringing his child in the next game

gamecreatorjj - 11/13/2011, 8:26 PM
im really hoping we either get that clayface was dead joker, or in the sequel, clayface goes mad after being in the laz pit, and believes he is the joker, looking and acting as such
NightWingNut
NightWingNut - 11/15/2011, 5:50 AM
A few things to point out:

1) The communications are indeed from Scarecrow. Someone decoded the most difficult cypher and using a key encryption of "scarecrow" the message turned out to be: "fear will tear gotham city to shreds" So that pretty much solves that.

2) In the end when Batman wakes from being knocked out, the cure is in his other hand (strange).

3) In the end, Harley Sings "HUSH" little baby, most likely pointing to Hush. When you complete the Identity Thief/Hush side mission, his password is "Mockingbird", like the song Harley is singing. Seems a lil too coincidental to me.

I believe the pregnancy test thing just being left there is a little too obvious for the World's Greatest Detective. I'm sure there's a much bigger plot against Batman we just haven't figured out yet.

for a third game, the joker could be put in the lazerous pit by Harley so he can be ressurected and joker takes all of gotham and not just arkham city so it can be BATMAN:GOTHAMCITY. Ther game has to take place a couple yrs later so it can show lil joker. and youll probably play as a really old bruce or a middled aged Dick.........Grayson(haha Joke) as batman, or if the developers feel like it, make the joker gang in the future find jokers dead body and ressurect it and create a joker in the future, old Bruce finds out but is too old for that stuff and The story revolves around batman beyond who has to stop all the future villans from the show and the joker is the leader.
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/16/2011, 4:31 AM
@ibravosp, I like the idea of Grayson being Batman in the next game. Joker shouldn't be the villain in the sequel. It should be Ra's or Scarecrow.

I hope in a sequel no more expending Riddles, no more physical challenges and no more dangerous animal fighting ! That shark in Penguin's hideout scared the shit of me.
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/20/2011, 3:30 AM
@ncreb, I don't think that the developers are going to put in a DLC for that. Saving it for a sequel is the best way to go.
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/20/2011, 3:37 AM
@NightWingNut, I did not know that the message was that, but it's good to know. But it did sound a lot like Ra's. (Hmm. I smell a partnership!)
I didn't notice that. It's a small thing. It might not even BE anything, maybe Joker did it just to mess Batman up?
And EVERYBODY sings "Hush little baby" Did you even notice that he NEVER calls himself Hush! HE USES HIS ACTUAL NAME!!! In the Arkham Universe Dr. Thomas Elliot is NOT Hush. He is the Identity Thief! Not Hush.
comiccow6
comiccow6 - 11/20/2011, 3:49 AM
@JokerFan, yea, there can be a sequel with no Joker. There are a bunch of people in the comics and game that are equal to, and maybe better than the Joker.
1.Ra's Al Ghul
2.Jason Todd
3.Scarecrow
4.Black Mask
5.Mr Freese
6.Catwoman
7.The Penguin
8.James Gordon Jr.
9.Bane (comics. Although his plan to use Batman to get more Toxin was pretty smart)
10.Azreal

See. And any number of those guys could appear in a sequel.
