After years of essentially being stuck in development hell, Sony Pictures' live-action
Uncharted movie is finally picking up some serious steam and according to
The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has given the film a prime holiday release date, slating it to open on December 18, 2020.
Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland is set to star as the young Nathan Drake while
10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg is attached to direct with a script most recently turned in by Jonathan Rosenberg and Mark Walker.
At the moment,
Uncharted will open opposite Steven Spielberg's
West Side Story and Paramount's
Coming 2 America. Disney's
Cruella and Universal's
The Croods 2 are slated to open the following week.
