UNCHARTED: Tom Holland And Mark Wahlberg Are Looking Sharp In First Snippets Of Footage

We got a new look at Uncharted stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake and Sully in Sony Pictures' upcoming video game adaptation earlier this week, and we now have our first glimpse of some footage featuring the pair thanks to a "Voices of Sony" video.

It's not exactly the most conventional way to debut the first official frames from a big tentpole release, but here we are. If you skip to around the 1:32 mark, you'll see a close-up of Sully (Wahlberg) followed by a wider shot which pans towards Drake (Holland). Both are sharply dressed, and neither appears to be having a particularly good day.

It may not be much, but it does count as our first look at some footage from the movie. Maybe a proper teaser trailer is imminent?

Sony's adaptation will be set before the events of the first game and serve as an origin story for the beloved character, as Drake embarks on his first globe-trotting adventure alongside mentor Sully.

Travis Knight, Dan Trachtenberg, Shawn Levy, Seth Gordon, Neil Burger and David O. Russell were all attached to helm Uncharted at one time or another, before Venom's Ruben Fleischer was finally confirmed as director last March.

Uncharted will also star Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle. The movie is (currently) set to hit theaters on February 18, 2022.

@RageDriver2401 - Just Google Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.

It's literally them being themselves in Uncharted lol.

Looking charming. But all the same, this still makes me laugh.

I cringed harder at this video than I thought I would. Chapeau Sony, you outdid yourselves here.

Now off to go get myself a PS5 from my local scalper who, thanks to Sony's insistence that there "aren't enough parts", can push the price of this machine up to $1,500. I'm sure that's not part of the marketing machine to keep the hype behind the PS5 up to sell more units once actual games come out for it, would be really dastardly if that were true.
Or hell, maybe I'll shoot some footage on my immensely overpriced Sony FS6 and use that new Sony lens I had to sell my lungs to get.
Maybe I can then sell that movie to the most cynical and reactionary film company out there?

Why doesn't he have a moustache?

I just don't understand why they wouldn't just moustache him up..

is it a slow build-up to him having the moustache? But if so, why?

WHY!?

JUST GIVE HIM A MOUSTACHE, SONY!!!

anyway, rant over. I'm sure it'll be good or fine or bad.

Why did they go with Tom Holland??? The guy can’t hold his in acting imo and doesn’t reflect Nathan drake at all...

The game deserves so much better. I don’t get why these companies just don’t make full length features using the cgi they use in the games. I watch more cut scenes put together on YouTube than I do playing the actual games.

Can someone please;

(a) tell me what the game is about,
and
(b) What aspects of can transfer well to a film?

Thank you.

@LSHF - the only thing I expect to carry over from the games is that they're on a mission to find an artifact, but the bad guy (who is sorta friendly character) keeps screwing over Nate and Sully, resulting in Nate and Sully having to destroy the entire place the artefact is housed a fire fight with the bad guy's goons.

Atleast, that's how I feel the games always end.
