Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today the release of Marvel's Runaways themed downloadable content for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. The new DLC, available today for just $2.99, adds a level and multiple characters inspired by Brian K Vaughan's comic series, which has been adapted into a television show currently streaming on Hulu.

In this all-new Runaways comic inspired level pack, players will travel to the undersea Marine Vivarium, where they’ll try to escape from the chaos and destruction that their criminal parents - ‘The Pride’ - have brought upon them.

In addition to the level, new characters from Marvel's Runaways will be available to play as, including Nico Minoru, Chase Stein, Alex Wilder, Karolina Dean, Molly Hayes, Old Lace, and Gertrude Yorkes. Combined with main game and all of the previously released DLC packs, the game's roster is over 200 playable Super Heroes and Super Villains.

The Runaways level pack can be purchased individually for $2.99 or as part of the Season Pass ($14.99) which also includes six Level Packs and four Character Packs. Some of that includes the previously released Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Black Panther and Cloak & Dagger content, and the Champions, Out of Time, and Agents of Atlas Character Packs.

I finally watched all of Runaways last weeks and while it was good on its own I must say I was extremely disappointed that there’s not a single connection with the movies or shows even though it’s supposedly set in the MCU.

@Ha1frican - does the news network on their televisions count?

@IKidYouNotMan - I mean kinda, that’s literally the only one though and it’s so easily missed it doesn’t really count for me. Even as loosely connected as the Netflix shows are at times at least people in the world don’t act like they’ve never heard of superpowers before
