VIDEO GAMES: New Trailer For OVERKILL'S THE WALKING DEAD Reveals Final Playable Character, Heather

Ahead of E3 next week, we have received a brand new trailer for Overkill's The Walking Dead, an upcoming co-op action first-person shooter where you and three others team up to fight off the dead as well as the living.

The new trailer introduces us to the fourth and final playable character, Heather, and is yet another CGI trailer. However, it might be the best one we've seen yet.

Interestingly, this is the first of the four trailers released thus far that show actual conflict with other living survivors. It's unclear how Heather knows these people, but I'm sure whatever group or faction they are part of will show up in the game. This is also the first trailer where a character's skillset isn't strongly hinted at - unless you consider her wit to be an asset.

With this trailer, we have now been introduced to each of the four playable characters in Overkill's The Walking Dead. As detailed by the developer, each of them has unique play styles, special abilities, skill trees and squad roles. Aiden, seen wielding a bat, is presumed to be a melee character. Maya, a former surgeon, is believed to be the healer/medic. And Grant, seen holding a sniper rifle, is expected to be the long-range specialist. Heather's role is still unclear.

Overkill's The Walking Dead is slated to release later this year on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A gameplay trailer for the game is expected to be shown at E3 next week.

Looks nice, but not very hyped for it.

The true zombie game coming out is Days Gone.

@Menks123 - How would you rate Days Gone? I was thinking about picking it up?

Can you create your own character?

@NegativeNerd - no character creation from the looks of it. Scripted storyline.

It’s like a mix of Last of Us and Dead Rising? Maybe? Looks cool. Plus, Sam Witwer.

@NegativeNerd - Comes out in Feb 2019, got delayed a bit. But from what i've seen it is going to be like Last of Us but more action packed and open world elements. Have been dying to get it and very hyped about it.

Also it has Sam Witwer doing the voice acting and mo cap for the lead character.

@Menks123 - it doesn’t looks bad, and I’m a big Sam Witwer fan... but to be honest, I think the gaming industry needs to take a break from the Zombie theme. I just can’t get excited about those type of games anymore. I started feeling this back when Left 4 Dead was ruling the scene. It’s enough for now... we can revisit it after a nice long break.... there’s plenty of other subjects to base a game on. C’mon, gaming devs!

Ugh. I’m an idiot. I’ve seen the trailers and gameplay. 😂 the name slips my mind though. But yeah, that first footage of gameplay was crazy!!!

the worst of the 3 trailers imo. Not bad, just not good either, they should have put this one in the middle or boosted the quality, because 1-3 were awesome

@Gizmoduck - I wonder why they didn’t show her life pre walkers like the other trailers.
