Earlier this afternoon at the Playstation Experience, Shawn Layden was present on stage & he brought up last year when he had on a Crash Bandicoot T-Shirt. Then shortly after, footage was finally shown for the Trilogy Remasters coming next year. Take a look:
The game, or
games in this case, were secretly in development for two years now. It's being published by
Activision & developed by
Vicarious Visions, the same guys responsible for Crash appearing in
Skylanders Imaginators via the
Thumpin' Wumpa Islands Expansion Pack. They also had history with the IP in the past, with a few GBA titles & a racing follow-up to the critically-acclaimed
Crash Team Racing called
Crash Nitro Kart.
Note that this is only footage from
Crash 1. Footage for 2 & 3 will come soon. But for now, take a look at some screenshots & a press gameplay video:
-
A new feature for the remasters is the addition of Time Trials not just for Crash Warped, but for 1 & 2 as well!
-
An improvement for Crash 1 is the save game system, you can do it manually or enable auto-save (Thank goodness, dying was a nightmare!)
-
Also improved upon in Crash 1 is the box counter system, seemingly absent from the original version.
