Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Interceptor From Defunct SPY HUNTER Film

In 2003, Universal Pictures acquired the rights to the popular arcade/video game, Spy Hunter. They quickly signed Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to star, but the project never materialized. Hit the jump to see some concept art for the G-6155 Interceptor.

From 2003 to 2007, Universal Pictures tried numerous times to bring the Spy Hunter video game to life on the big screen, but they were unsuccessful. Even though they had Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson all set to star in the film adaptation, the project would go through several rewrites and several directors. In the beginning, Broken Arrow director, John Woo, was set to helm the project but he left due to "scheduling conflicts." A few years later, Paul W. S. Anderson ("Resident Evil"), who has the distinction of being one of the few directors to successfully adapt a video game for film was attached, but he too would later pull out.

That doesn't mean Spy Hunter is dead. Actually, just recently Warner Bros. acquired the rights and are moving forward with their own version. They've hired Gangster Squad's Ruben Fleischer to direct and produce.

And even though Universal's Spy Hunter never got off the ground, pre-production for the film was started. You can see below concept art of the G-6155 Interceptor, that was designed by conceptual illustrator, Tim Flattery.

@Levitikus

Dude, I am going to just keep playing whack-a-mole with your spoilers. You need to stop. Yes, you do have free speech and are entitled to your opinions and your expression. However there are rules about spoilers on this website.

You are obviously attempting "troll-like" behavior. You are constantly spamming unrelated articles with Iron Man 3 spoilers. If you want to express yourself, do it in a non-aggressive manor that doesn't spoil a movie for the rest of us. Write an article for the site called "Why You Should Boycott Iron Man 3!" make it clear that the article will contain heavy spoilers, and then air your grievances.

I understand the disappointment you are feeling right now but there is absolutely zero need to go about expressing yourself in a way that aggravates others.

Gangster Squad was terrible, and nobody gives a crap about Spy Hunter. It was a knock off James Bond video game to begin with. Just make a Knight Rider movie already, and it better not suck.
