WONDER WOMAN 1984 Footage Description Sees Diana Prince Take The Fight To Washington D.C.

During the HBO Max presentation earlier this week, new footage was released from Wonder Woman 1984 and we now have a detailed description of Diana Prince's action-packed visit to the nation's capital...

It was recently confirmed that the first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984 will arrive this December, but WarnerMedia decided to show off some footage from the highly anticipated sequel during the HBO Max presentation earlier this week. Now, thanks to IGN, we have a description of what was shown.

The majority of the footage took place in Washington D.C. as Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) and Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) are shown walking in front of the Washington monument. As they shared a tender moment, the voiceover says, "I can almost see it, like a beautiful dream." Whether that means this is, in fact, a dream sequence of some sort is obviously hard to say.

The next scene featured Wonder Woman battling a number of enemies in the White House while decked out in her new, gold armour. Protecting Steve from gunfire, she grabs a gun, takes it apart in slow-motion, and then uses her lasso to take some of them down. Interestingly, one shot showed the hero using that same lasso to deflect a bolt of lightning!

As a result, speculation is now running rampant that Wonder Woman battles Zeus or someone similar in this movie, and that would make sense considering the fact that she's previously faced Ares.

@KWilly - I liked it too. One of the better animated movies. Looking forward to Red Son next.

@KWilly - I just watched a trailer and it looks ok, but can you tell me if the movie shows the full extent of her powers? Martial arts are one of her attributes and she's the best in the universe, but I want to see her show off super-strength and super-speed like when she hoisted the tank in the live action movie, or even something much heavier.

I don't know about leaks of any sort, but this description makes me think almost all of the movie is gonna be a dream sequence of some sorts. I'm nonetheless pretty stoked for this movie, since mostly the setting sounds very interesting.

OT: With today's release of Apple TV+, with the most boring line-up, I also read something about AT&T rolling out another streaming service. I just wonder why AT&T wouldn't just combine their's with HBO Max, since they own both.

Lasso deflecting lightning? Did she pay Hephaestus a visit for an upgrade haha.

Patti Jenkins using slo-mo again

@OmegaDaGrodd - to be fair, WW was less obnoxious about it than other movies I could name but not going to.
And there's no really other way to show off super speed that I can think of. I mean, it's either that or something out of DBZ, and not in a good way.

@Spidey91 - Oh, I'm not averse to slowmo, and even liked most of it during No Man's Land. It's the way she used it in hand to hand combat scenes that got super jarring, especially the things she was trying to slow down in the opening beach fight and then later during the battle in the tower. If she's gotten better at it, great, but if she hasn't, I'm hoping this is minimized, because while I wouldn't call it obnoxious in WW1, it was definitely ill advised in a lot of the places it was used

@OmegaDaGrodd - most likely a left over from the then current DCEU aesthetic. If I had to guess, it'a not going to be used nearly as much in this one.

@Spidey91 - True, I felt like Jenkins didn't have any action experience on blockbusters at that point and so Snyder recommended the hell out of it. Hoping she didn't fall in love with it there.

I don't have any hype for this for some reason - it just seems like its happening, but over there. And unfortunately, we're over here now.

...if that makes sense lol

@Kman - very much so actually ... odd space and knowing DC marketing will be Terrible even if it's good film like Shazam ....

i hope it's a great follow up tho

@Kman - It’s still 8 months away, hoping the hype rises for me too.
Gal is too perfect as WW.

I’ll watch this when it’s released on the internet. This just doesn’t look interesting. Felt the same way with WW 2017. Just a whole bunch of meh. I don’t know why Chris Pine took a role in this over starring in GL. That’s a real head scratcher to me. WW 2017 was fine but still...DC just needs to start over. Hopefully Pattinson’s Batman does just that.
