Love and Monsters premieres at home and in select theaters on October 16th from Paramount Pictures, and takes place seven years after the "Monsterpocalypse." Humanity has been forced to hide underground, but Joel (Dylan O'Brien) decides to embark on a dangerous mission to reunite with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick) after reconnecting with her over the radio. However, with dangerous monsters standing in his way, their reunion isn't going to be an easy one.
Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and Ariana Greenblatt (Avengers: Infinity War) are also part of the cast, and we recently caught up with the former to discuss his role in the movie.
We'll bring you that tomorrow, but after chatting about the franchise potential of Love and Monsters, we had to ask what it was like to enter the crazy world of Fast & Furious with the upcoming F9.
"People go crazy over this thing, man. I can see why," Rooker said. "Have you seen any of these? They're just wild and crazy. I can see why they're so popular, and to get involved with it has been a dream come true." Interestingly, the actor then seemed to tease his future in the long-running series.
"We're going to do...you know what, I can't say a lot about it, but I think they're going to do more," the actor teased. "I think there's going to be more. There's Fast 10, but maybe 11, 12, 13, and 14...and 18. Who knows? It can just continue on and on and one. What a franchise. Oh my Gosh. And The Walking Dead. What a franchise. It's just branching out and they're going everywhere."
F9 was supposed to be released this year, but has slipped into 2021 thanks to COVID-19. Rooker taking on a leading role in the franchise is massively exciting, and it makes sense for his character to be around for the long haul. Who knows, perhaps he'll be set up as the new big bad after John Cena?
Time will tell, but you can see more of Rooker in action in this exclusive Love and Monsters clip:
