F9: THE FAST SAGA Trailer Sees The FAST & FURIOUS Franchise Finally Head Into Outer Space (Sort Of)

A new trailer for F9: The Fast Saga has been released, and it promises to kick the summer blockbuster season off in style! There's plenty of action-packed madness here to check out, that's for sure...

The Fast & Furious franchise has finally embraced the inevitable: it's heading into outer space.

This action-packed new trailer features plenty of crazy action, but it's the final scene that is most intriguing (insane?) as Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris head into the upper atmosphere in makeshift spacesuits.

It may seem daft, but if you're a fan of the action movie series, you'll probably agree that this is a natural progression for a franchise that has become steadily more madcap and OTT as time has passed. Regardless, after a delay of over a year, it's good to see this trailer because it finally feels like the summer blockbuster season is beginning after we missed out on it in 2020.

In F9: The Fast Saga, Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon.

This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (played by former WWE Superstar and The Suicide Squad star John Cena).

The movie also stars returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang, with Oscar winners Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron. F9 also features Grammy-winning superstar Cardi B as new franchise character Leysa, a woman with a connection to Dom’s past, and a cameo by Reggaeton sensation Ozuna.

So does that mean Jakob is Mia's brother too? 'Cause they don't seem to acknowledge it, like at all.

@tylerzero - he has to be her brother because Dom and her are brothers. Seems weird they don't acknowledge it here but she is back in the fold, so I guess it will come up at some point.

Dom is always the center so everything becomes about him, even this.

This series peaked at Fast Five and they should've stopped there.

@JohnnyTBP - same here. Ultimate sit back and enjoy franchise.

Although I do miss the times when it was just about street racing though.

@bkmeijer - yeah but it was never really about street racing. The first scene was a heist with street racing
