Paramount Is Developing A Live-Action ACTION MAN Movie From The Director Of THE MUPPETS

Did you play with the Action Man toys as a kid? Well, you may be glad to know that a live-action movie is now in the works from the director of The Muppets and the writer of Paddington 2. Really!

Toy franchises being made into movies is nothing new these days and now it's Action Man's turn to hit the big screen. While the action figures may not ring a bell to those of you in the United States, they're essentially the United Kingdom's version of G.I. Joe and have been a popular toy for decades now (there have also been a lot of comic books featuring the character too which have sold pretty well).

James Bobin (Alice Through the Looking Glass) is set to direct and the script was penned by Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2). That's a pretty unique pairing but the latter is the best-reviewed movie of all-time on Rotten Tomatoes so the character is in pretty capable hands. There's no release date or casting information at the moment and it's unclear whether or not a British actor will take the lead role.

If so, Henry Cavill would be a pretty good choice for the role but we'll have to wait and see. The Action Man toys were first released in 1966 by Hasbro. There have been a number of animated TV shows and the big bad of the franchise is an international terrorist known as
Dr. X. How do you guys feel about this news? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below.
