Ladys and Gentlemen I would like to welcome you to the CBM Oscars! Tonight we will be giving awards to the best comic book movies out there. These are the results from the voting. I'd like to start us off with Andy Samberg:

Now our first award is the greatest Marvel comic book movie. This was a very a very close poll but the winner was:

With 53.86%

Next is of course the greatest DC comics, comic book movie. This is one that I didn't expect a suprise from, the winner obviously being:

The Dark Knight with 65.82%.

Next we shall have the Most Faithful Adaption. The point of this award was to see what comic book adaption was the most like it with the least diffrences from the comic. The winner was:

Watchmen with 55.93%

Next was Bad Adaption, That Still Kicked-Ass. This award was to see what adaption was hardly like its comic counterpart, that was probally better off not being like it's source. The winner was:

The Batman in the Nolanverse, with 36%.

Next was Best Advertising, which tells us what film is keeping us satisfied the most. The winner being:

Thor with 63.27%.

Next we will have the Best Poster. This award was what voters thought was the coolest looking poster. The winner being:

The Dark Knight with 31.11%.

For a quick advertisment, those that haven't read White Fire, be sure to check that out.

Now we have the Getting Old award. The point of this was to see what film series do we think should just stop. The winner was:

X-Men, which isn't a suprise seeing as they won't be stopping there films for awhile. With 84.21%

Now we shall have the award Best Villian(From Comics) Used. This was to honor the best used villian from the comics in a film. The winner:

The Joker from the Adam West film all the way to Heath Ledger, winning with 73.91%.

Now for the Most Wanted Villian in a Film. This is honoring the villian that we want most in a film. The winner:

Braniac in the Man of Steel, winning with 41.86%.

We shall now be presenting The Best Used Storylin/Series used in a Film. The winner:

Batman: Year One in Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight with 27.5%.

Next is the Most Wanted Storyling/Series in a film. This was very close, as we were able to get a tie. So we shall be presenting this to two storylines. First is:

Batman: Knightfall in The Dark Knight Rises. Second is:

Hands of the Mandarin in Ironman 3, both winning with 22.86%

Now for the Most Misunderstood Film. I wanted to see what everyone thought critics were to harsh on. The winner being:

Daredevil with 23.26%. This film is very enjoyable, while it got many negative reviews, though not comparing to films like Catwoman.

Now we have The Best Score. The winner :

Winning with 35.9%.

Now for The Greatest Special Effects. This was a very close one, but overall the winner was:

Spiderman winning with 42.86%.

Now for The Most Anticipated Film. This was very suprising as one of the choices was the Avengers yet the winner was:

The Dark knight Rises with 33.33%.

We shall now present the Greatest Film Series, which was won by:

The Batman Nolanverse with 69.70%.

Last but not least we will The Greatest Comic Book Movie of All Time. This is our biggest award, and will lead to the most debate. The winner is :

The dark Knight wins with 53.66%. Not only does it take the award of Greatest CBM, but the blockbuster award as it won 4 awards.

Thanks you all for being at the "Oscars" tonight. I couldn't of done this without you all. Give yourself all a pat on the backs, and again thank you all.

The results for the poll "Most Anticipated Film" are a complete load of crap. Obviously there's a bunch of Nolanites lurking on this forum. (as I've suspected all along.) We've got the new Superman reboot coming out next year as well as the god-damned Avengers. Sorry, but I don't see how TDKR even registers as a bleep the hype radar when in the light of those two films.

I agree with most of this. Nice work manymade1! This was a cool idea.

batman,yet again won far too many awards then he actually deserves.

most anticipated film is definetly out of the avengers,the wolverine,the amazing spider-man or superman man of steel.

i suppose we should relize if batman is any poll or voting system that his gonna win.

waste of time voting.

when nolan has finished with the overrated batman franchise hopefully we don't see any batman films for about 5-10 years,so we get a chance to see some of the other characters that batman is holding back i.e the flash,captain marvel,atom or even lobo.

I think Spider-Man 3 should've won for Most Misunderstood film. Go ahead, kill me.
I agree about X-Men, they already have planned a full First Class trilogy, a New Mutants, The Wolverine, Deadpool, and possibly X4. Time for a reboot after Deadpool.
The Dark Knight is my favorite film of all time, so I'm glad it won four awards. Although I slightly agree with marvel72...as much as I love Batman, he seems to win too many contests. Plus, we need more DC characters like Flash, Plastic Man, Captain Marvel, or even Wonder Woman adapted to the big screen after TDKR.

@indoraptor12 and marvel72: I'm sorry that fans can't be impressed with The Dark Knight and awaiting a great final film over two reboots that will be going back to the origins of already on screen characters: The Amazing Spider-man which is directed by a man who has directed one other film which happens to be a romantic comedy, and the Superman Reboot is directed by a man who has done a few darker films (watchmen, 300, and Dawn of the Dead). Dark is not the way to go for Superman. Ironman 2 has shown that a bunch of characters could be a problem for a film with like the Avengers. As for the Wolverine I am barely excited for that at all. I don't know why TDKR shouldn't be the most anticipated, but Wolverine should?

@PaulRom: I think Spider-man 3 might of won if it was put in the poll the same time as the other canidates for most misunderstood film becuase Spider-man 3 deserved the title. I do think fans are too hard on Daredevil, though. So I'm glad DD won when Spider-man 3 didn't.

Nolanites? lol
Are they people who realise that Nolan consistently brings out brilliant quality films and that some even break records and go down as instant classics?
If yes, then count me among that group.
Also I guess I'm a Spielbergist and a Tarantinite.

Is it really that surprising that DKR is most anticipated?
Dark Knight is known as the most successful and critically acclaimed comic book film of all time so far and Heath Ledger recreated an iconic character in that film who is always going to be known as a classic villain. With his death the anticipation of how Nolan will deliver the final film is monumental.

Personally I'm on equal ground with my anticipation for
Supes and Bats 3, and also I can't wait to see how the Avengers mesh together on screen. But we haven't even seen Cap or Thor yet, plus Hulk franchise is shit.
It isn't a tragedy that DKR is most anticipated around here.

@golden123

The Avengers should be the most anticipated film. 'Nuff said. It's an accomplishment that both Marvel fans and DC fans should enjoy. Unfortunately it would seem that that's not the case. If the Justice League was on that list instead of The Avengers it might have won due largely to the disproportionate amount of DC fanboys that voted on this poll. (BTW I doubt they would be saying that a Justice League movie would suffer from "too many characters" syndrome.)

"I'm sorry that fans can't be impressed with The Dark Knight and awaiting a great final film over two reboots that will be going back to the origins of already on screen characters"

Before Nolan came around we already had 2 different versions of Batman on film, so I don't see why fans shouldn't look forward to AMS and Supes just because they're both reboots. The directors of both films are promising completely different takes on the characters, just like Nolan promised a different take on Batman.

@ZeroEthic

The third Batman movie may have the success of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight going for it, but The Avengers has the success of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America going for it. That and the fact that it's the world's FIRST ensemble film featuring the stars of various other superhero blockbusters on the same screen. Also, I'd like to mention how anticipation for the Avengers started back in 2008 when Iron Man came out, and has constantly been refueled with the releases of TIH, Iron Man 2, and soon to be Thor and Captain America.

Sin City should've won best adaptation. It allowed for Watchmen to be made, IMO.

IM2 was average, like it or not the Cap trailer is a little cheesy, Hulk still hasn't recovered from Ang Lee, and not as many people understand Thor's role in the Comic Book world. Tag that along with people not being sure about Chris Evans, people thinking Nick Fury should be white, and people not understanding why we have our third Hulk in a decade, and that is why the Avengers isn't as highly anticipated as we all might hope.

TDKR on the other hand, is a final chapter of films following the highest grossing CBM ever,and is being directed by the hottest director on the planet.

For me, my excitement for The Avengers hangs heavily on how things go this summer.

Right, wrong, or indifferent, it is what it is.

@FutureCBMHero

I'd like to think that those were all reasons why TDKR was voted highest on this list. But do you really let it pass you for a second that maybe the people that voted for TDKR did so because they hate the sound of "Avengers Assemble"? Not to mention that all the points you brought up are trivial in comparison to what the Avengers is bringing to the table: The world's first superhero ensemble featuring the stars of past summers' biggest blockbuster CBMs.
marvel72
marvel72 - 2/27/2011, 3:04 PM
if the justice league was up there the dc fans would of been like "justice league most anticipated film of 2011",but because marvel are doing what dc fans would love there all butthurt.

@ golden123

of course snyder won't go dark with superman out all directors his the one man who kmows how to adapt from the source material.

iron man 2 has shown how a bunch of characters can ruin a film like the avengers,right howabout the x-men 2 that a good example of how to handle a team of heroes,granted not a fan of fox x-men movies from three onwards but x-men 2 certainly had its moments of cool scenes.
SmokinIndo
SmokinIndo - 2/27/2011, 3:14 PM
@Marvel72

Don't forget about Watchmen showing how to assemble a team together. That and the fact that Joss Whedon knows how to write an ensemble better than anyone else in the business.

golden123 - 2/27/2011, 3:25 PM
@indoraptor: Actually, I would argue that most people on here are Marvel lovers or are DC and Marvel are equal type people. There seems to be less DC lovers. Also, I never said I wasn't looking forward to the other films (except The Wolverine). I was just expressing my opinions for why I was anticipating TDKR over the others. TDKR is already part of a series that has proven it self while The Amazing Spider-man and Superman: The Man of Steel are reboots that we really don't know what is coming. Eventhough I like those characters they're part of reboots and have already been on screen before. We could have had other superheroes come out with movies in 2012 instead of them. TDKR has already had movies prior to it and we can't do anything about that besides sit back and await the ending.

Any douchebag that tries the downplay the success of a movie by comparing it to TDK is a Nolanite. I've been on plenty of sites where trolls from the Batman forums try their very hardest to trash the Iron Man or Spider-Man series with respect to The Dark Knight. People who say "this movie should be dark like TDK" is a Nolanite. People who say "this movie is trying too hard to be like TDK" is a Nolanite. There's no question that there are Nolanites voting on this forum that are trying to rob Marvel of their immense accomplishment due to their intense jealousy and radical fanboyism. It's pathetic really.

@Gaston

"It's a matter of opinion and the fact is that more people liked TDK than any other movie in the poll. There's no reason to get mad. It doesn't diminish the quality of Marvel films."

Nolanites actually speak as if it diminishes the quality of Marvel films. I understand that it doesn't, it's just these thick-headed idiots that do. LOL that's precisely why I left IMDb for CBM! I can't stand trolls...

I'm not mad because TDK was voted best CBM. I'm pissed because it was voted most anticipated CBM despite the fact that The Avengers is on that list. I guarantee you that if it was the Justice League instead of the Avengers, those same people that voted TDKR would have voted differently.

@indoraptor12

Yea there are always people who become so infatuated with a film that they actually downplay other films significance, it is annoying.
But it not exclusively these "nolanites" it happens all over.

You said "The Avengers has the success of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, and Captain America going for it."
It doesn't have the success of Thor or Cap yet, for all we know it has their failure to try and play down.
I don't think that'll be the case, but the fact is Avengers still have the team leader and a main member to come yet so anticipation isn't on Avengers fully yet.
If they do succeed critically (and they probably will) then the hype for Avengers will reeeally build and perhaps outweigh the other films for the majority of fans.

Also, if Justice League were on the list there's a good chance I would have picked it, but only because it would be a kind of sequel to the Batman franchise, and I prefer the Justice League personally.
But with that said, it's no difference from someone choosing Avengers over JL because they prefer them.
It doesn't mean there's this malicious campaign of bastards, it's just different opinions.

lol, Indoraptor. Paranoid much? "Nolanite". lmao. Such a bullshit word, made up by Marvel fans that are resentful of how well Nolan's Batman movies did. Like Zeroethic said, I guess that makes me a Coheninte and an Aronofskynite.

@RorMachine

I may be a Marvel fan, but I'm not one of those tools that carry a massive chip on their shoulder. I just hate the loads of fanboys (dubbed "Nolanites") who have emerged to try and downplay Marvel Studios' success by comparing everything they release to The Dark Knight. That's why some of us are so resentful. I'm not contesting that TDK and Begins are two of the best CBMs to date.
