Walt Disney Studios and 20th Century Fox have a new theatrical - and possibly final - trailer for James Gray's upcoming sci-fi space mystery, Ad Astra, featuring arguably our best look at the film yet as Academy Award-winner Brad Pitt (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) searches the entire solar system for a man he thought long dead: his father.

While plot details have mostly been kept under wraps, the film will follow Roy McBride (Brad Pitt), an astronaut who traverses the solar system in a bid to find his long lost father, while simultaneously uncovering the shocking truth behind the failure of his dad's initial mission, which may or may not have involved searching for extraterrestrial life.

In addition to Pitt, the cast features Tommy Lee Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger), Ruth Negga (Preacher), Liv Tyler (The Incredible Hulk), Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games), Jamie Kennedy (Scream), John Finn (The Walking Dead), Kimberly Elise (Death Wish), Bobby Nish (ER), LisaGay Hamilton (Vice), and John Ortiz (Bumblebee).

Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.

Ad Astra features:

Brad Pitt as Roy McBride
Tommy Lee Jones as Clifford McBride
Ruth Negga in an undisclosed role
Liv Tyler in an undisclosed role
Donald Sutherland in an undisclosed role
Jamie Kennedy as Peter Bello
John Finn as Stroud
Kimberly Elise as Lorraine Deavers

Holy shit, this looks good. Might be my most anticipated for the rest of the year outside of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
James Grey + Bradley Pittsburgh + Hoyte van Hoytema as DoP + Max Richter on the score? Damn.

This looks amazing! Love space movies and I was bored to death by First Man. Fortunately, this looks like a good ride.

The snippet of Max Richter's score in this trailer reminded me of his incredible work on The Leftovers

@TheGrayGhost - I hope Matt Reeves gets him for Batman... if he could get Tarantino's cinematographer, it's definitely possible

Wait I had no idea Ruth Negga was in this. She definitely deserves to be in more stuff.
