Via Entertainment Weekly, Marvel and Disney XD have debuted a new still image from the anticipated animated series Marvel's Avengers Assemble, which will replace Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes on the "Marvel Universe" programming block. The image below features the entire team, minus Captain America (Roger Craig Smith). The rest of the series' voice cast includes Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man, Fred Tatasciore as Hulk, Travis Willingham as Thor, Troy Baker as Hawkeye, Laura Bailey as Black Widow and as Falcon. A one-hour preview will air on Disney XD May 26th at 11 AM EST; "In the first part of the special preview, Captain America is apparently destroyed by Red Skull, so Iron Man re-unites the team to try and avenge his friend and stop Red Skull’s army. In the second part, Red Skull steals Tony Stark’s armor, and the Avengers must galvanize the team to stop him and M.O.D.O.K. from destroying New York City." The official premiere date for Marvel's Avengers Assemble is July 7th. Additionally, Disney XD will begin airing Hulk And The Agents Of S.M.A.S.H. on August 11th.

the promotional stuff for this series has been pretty inconsistent: sometimes it's an artwork, sometimes it's different artwork, sometimes Thor has his movie helmet, other times is the classic helmet.

at least they aren't using the USM's designs.

Why did they cancel EMH again? Hope this is at least on par, was a damn good show.

the design seems a bit boring to me.

But I hope the actual show looks more complex and modern.

So it's a cartoon based on a movie that's based on a comic?
I liked EHM bc it had its own look and feel.

No, GLprime2814!

Cartoon AND comics are now based on the movies. jack Kirby has been erased.

The whole natural flow . . . is gone.

Thor, Gut of Thunder.

Hope this show is good, EMH was too good to get canceled.

GLPrime: I agree. Part of what made EMH so damned good was that it borrowed elements from everything- classic Avengers going back to the '60s, more recent classic-universe Avengers from the modern era, some from the ultimate universe, and some from the movies. They blended all of these diverse elements into something new and different, and even for a grouchy old purist like me, it worked. There was truly something in EMH for every kind of Avengers fan, whichever version they preferred or were more familiar with.

This new show has a very high bar it will be judged against. As an Avengers fan, I honestly hope that it's up to the challenge, but realistically, I hope it at least sucks less than the '90s show. We'll see soon.

the thing i liked about EMH is it was taking us through the comic stories we never got to see and likley never will see on screen. it WAS the marvel universe. this one will most likely be written off as an "alternate."

i still liked the designs from EMH better. they were more unique and less generic looking. but i really didn't like the designs for EMH or Spectacular before they debuted so maybe these will grow on me.

you know a show will suck when they use the term "destroy" instead of dead

Hulk looks ok...that's the best I can do.

Is this a sequel series, or are they just skipping an origin story?

@JohnnyKrypton, they said it's a sequel. While the things in EMH probably won't be directly referenced, everything that happened in the series is canon for Avengers Assemble.

@theInvincibleMexiMan i thought the same thing when i first saw that picture, and also Iron mans armor looks on the bulky side, I am not even sure he has a neck on that thing. This show has a really big set of shoes to fill and I am not very hopefull, but will give it a chance.

Avengers EMH was literally one of the worst marvel animated shows i've ever seen. (along with those terrible animes)

I'm really hoping this one will be worth watching. I'm tired of only watching Spider-man cartoons and 90's solo marvel shows that were actually fun to watch.
