EXCLUSIVE: Christian Slater Reflects On His Unique Experience Playing Vance Maximus In RICK AND MORTY

Last year, Christian Slater made a surprise guest appearance in Rick and Morty as leader of The Vindicators, Vance Maximus. Here, he talks about his experience working on the Adult Swim series...

As well as starring in Mr. Robot, Christian Slater has become known for his voiceover work in recent years, including The Lion Guard and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. However, a standout role for him came in Adult Swim's critically acclaimed Rick and Morty when he played Vance Maximus. As the heroic leader of The Vindicators, he clashed repeatedly with Rick and served as an idol of sorts for Morty.

I recently had the opportunity to catch up with the actor and asked him about what it was like to star in a series which is obviously known for a having a very, well, unique atmosphere behind the scenes.

"I had a great time doing that [Laughs]," he revealed. "Dan Harmon was there and he directed me and told me what to do and I think he enjoyed what I was doing. We just had fun that particular day and it was another one of those situations where I was in a booth and I had to fly into the thing, try to escape, and ended up getting shot to bits. We were both laughing at that particular moment."

Unless it's via a flashback or alternate universe, we're unlikely to see more of Vance but with so many doubts swirling about a fourth season anyway, who knows what the future holds in store for Rick and Morty! Did you enjoy seeing Slater in the series? Be sure to let us know your thoughts down below.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay arrives on Blu-ray and DVD April 16th. Stay tuned for much more on that!

Great episode. One of the best of the season.

Managed to make fun of superheroes and drunken blackouts at the same time. Really hit close to home.
