This movie just cant seem to lock down a cast. So far we know Garret Hedlund will play Kaneda and Ken Watanabe MIGHT play The Colonel, everything else is up in the air including Helena Bonham Carter who was said to be up for the role of psychic revolutionary leader Lady Miyako. While speaking to MTV the Oscar winner kept it short and sweet..



"I haven't really decided yet," said Bonham Carter, who confirmed she had in fact read the script already. "I don't know yet what I'm going to do next. I'm not really going to talk about it until I've decided whether to do it or not."


I'm not expecting too much from this movie, but since it is happening whether we like it or not I at least hope that it's a well made film. So I was hoping that Carter was a sure thing. Guess we will have to wait and see.

She is a decent actress. I can't stand her husband though, he hasn't had an original idea in over 20 years.

Hopefully Watanabe officially gets the part and Bonham turns its down so an Asian actress can get the part....from then on they can improve the rest of the casting.

They changed too much shit

They only thing I would change is that whole organ transformation mass thing in the climax. That was weird as [frick] and unnecessary.

Helena is an awesome actress. The only reason I would watch it is because of the actors.

I love the fact that it's set in NY, but making Kaneda a simple bartender and limiting Tetsuo to just telephatic and telekinetic powers is absurd. He's supposed to turn into an unstoppable, all-powerful force...
