13: Game Of Death was based on a comic book called "13th Quiz Show". If you haven't heard of it, the movie was released in 2006 and was directed by Chukiat Sakveerakul. It was about a man who is led through progressively challenging, degrading and dangerous stunts by mysterious callers from an underground reality game show.
Now
Deadline report that IM Global will be producing an American remake with Daniel Stamm as director and co-writer along with David Birke. The remake's title will be shortened to
13. I was a big fan of Stamm's
The Last Exorcism (until the end anyway) so I have some hope for this. If you haven't seen the original and are a fan of foreign cinema check it out, it's well worth a look.
