ANT-MAN Cast & Director Talk Potential Sequels, Post-Credits Scene & More

Our friends at Flicks And The City have posted their coverage of the London Ant-Man press junket, and the likes of Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michael Pena and director Peyton Reed dropped some very interesting tidbits about the film. There are hints at some big SPOILERS in there though...

In the following video, Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Michael Pena and director Peyton Reed talk about the potential for an Ant-Man sequel and the tone and direction it might take. Each actor is also quizzed about where they'd like to see their characters go in a future movie. Obviously they don't go into much detail, as even if they did know anything they wouldn't be allowed to spill. But, both Douglas and Reed do bring up the end of the movie and its post-credits stinger - stinger possibly being the operative word there as it relates to the hints they drop about Evangeline Lilly's character Hope Van Dyne. There's also the UK press conference in full.

In "Ant-Man," Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) approaches master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) with a suit that grants him the ability to shrink in size but increases his strength! Scott must embrace his inner hero and put the suit to good use and save the world under Pym's leadership.

Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Evangeline Lilly, David Dastmalchian, Michael Pena, Bobby Cannavale, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, Wood Harris John Slattery and Gregg Turkington. The film opens July 17, 2015

Fact: Janet deserved a movie over Pym and Scott Lang.

I always thought this would just be a one off film and Marvel would merge Ant-Man and his amazing friends into other ensemble films (ex. Civil War, Avengers Infinity War)

Way better character with more depth, characterization and was much more vigilant about being a superhero than Pym.

It all comes down to how much it makes and how many people go see it. If it's a success in those fields, there will absolutely be a sequel

Sorry superior but wrong on all accounts. Lang has more depth? Please he has had 2 good stories and one of them was him dying. More characterization than pym? Pym who went from meek scientist, to reluctant hero, to a major dick, redeeming hero, to scientist supreme. Sorry once again, lang just has 2 good arcs and his daughter outshines him in every way. More vigilant about being a hero? Don't let EMH fool you, Pym spent very little time as a reluctant hero, he has spent more time being a full time hero than he hasn't, and more time being a full time hero than Lang ever has. He had most of the time been portrayed as a pacifist, but that never equated to not a hero.

Don't think theres any need for a sequel. I think Ant-man, Pym and Hope/Wasp should be used in the same fashion as the Hulk, where they show up in ensemble movies. I think there are much more intriguing story lines that could be explored.

@kurt
Now I do get that. I've always been a pym fan, but being unlikable I can understand. I tend to like character that can grow (no pun intended) as a character and change. Lang is more of a guy you'd have a beer with, but he was pretty much the same guy throughout. Pym has had more personal growth, failings, and rebounds than most characters.
