ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: Giant-Man And The Wasp Head Into Action In These Hi-Res Images

Earlier this week, the first trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp was released and it provided an awesome look at the highly anticipated sequel from Marvel Studios. With Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War on the horizon, it's probably going to be a while before we see more from this one but Disney has now released a handful of official hi-res images featuring some key moments from the sneak peek.

That's right, they're essentially trailer screengrabs but that makes them no less cool to see, especially as they're significantly better quality than actual screenshots pulled from a 720p YouTube video.

Ant-Man isn't expected to appear in Avengers: Infinity War but both he and The Wasp will definitely be part of Avengers 4 when they assemble alongside the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. What was your favourite shot from the trailer? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

This awesome shot of The Wasp shows the pint-sized hero running across a knife thrown at her by a goon before she takes flight to take him out. It's a great visual and an inventive shot by Peyton Reed.

Giant-Man looks bigger than ever in this movie and some eagle-eyed fans have noticed that he's actually confronting the villain played by Walton Goggins and that he has Pym's building with him.

Because people always need something to complain about, a lot of fans on social media have found fault with the fact Hope Van Dyne's Wasp has "boob armour." Is it really that big of a deal?

Well, this is a random shot to release but Hope doesn't look at all impressed by Scott's reaction to being shrunk down in her van while they're on the run from the villainous Ghost and company.

Is Ghost the main villain of the movie? I like that she doesnt have the same abilities as Ant Man & the Wasp. Will be interesting to see her in action

@MeAreLegend - My guess? She ends up being under the employ of Bill Foster, who is the secret villain. He kills Hank, and Scott, Hope, and Janet all suit up to fight him. I also think they're gonna find Janet in the beginning of the second act.

@TheRealTomServo - I think bill foster will accidentaly create ghost while trying to replicate the Pym particle, then be roped into helping her get revenge for something Pym did as ant man.

@MeAreLegend - @MeAreLegend - Yeah, I wish they saved Ghost for an Iron Man movie since he's y'know an Iron Man villain traditionally. They should've gone with Whirlwind IMO or even better, Taskmaster.

Just me or is giant man bigger?

@QueenCipher - ...Hmm... Just learned a lot about San Francisco Bay to answer that question.

Since Giant Man is standing near a ferry, it's most likely he's standing somewhere with at least 30 feet deep water (~45 seems to be most common), though there are substantial swathes of the depth map with ~100 feet or more. As the people are looking up at him, and he's still in the process of standing in the shot we see him, I'd say we're looking at maybe a seventy-five to one hundred foot dude.

I'd guess his Civil War appearance was probably in the neighborhood of around forty? But movie magic probably makes a hard number impossible to pin down.

Loved the trailer, the variety this year from Marvel is astounding. I am sure I heard something like this come out of comic con but I put money on Luis telling Janet everything that has happened in the MCU while she has been away, and it is going to be amazing!

Emicida, a brazilian rapper, released a track honoring Black Panther, the character and the movie:

Pantera Negra (Black Panther)

I tried to translate the Chorus:

With the claw, reason and coldness, bro
If life is heavy, I'm sure I'll be back
Like Black Panther (I came back)
Like Black Panther
With the claw, reason and coldness, bro
If life is heavy, I'm sure I'll be back
Like Black Panther (I came back)
Like Black Panther

And Kendrick Lamar realeased a new track too with The Weeknd:
