Rumored AQUAMAN Post-Credits Scene Will Set Up A Major Role For [SPOILER]

We only just got the first trailer for Aquaman but details on the movie's after-credits scene may have already been revealed and it sets up some pretty big things for a certain character. Take a look!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its after-credits scenes but those are something Warner Bros. is also embracing (Justice League had two of them, both of which felt very Marvel-lite in nature). Now, a new report claims to reveal what to expect from Aquaman's stinger and it sounds like this one will definitely drop some big hints about where the character will be going next in the DCEU.

Apparently, it will show Randall Park's
Dr. Stephen Shin and Yahya Abdul Mateen II's Black Manta plotting against Arthur Curry, setting up a considerably larger role for the latter in a possible follow-up.

We don't have any specifics beyond that but it would make sense based on what we know about Shin and director James Wan has said on a number of occasions that Manta will be introduced here before taking on a larger role in Aquaman 2 if and when it happens. Do you think this sounds like a satisfying scene? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section below.

29th of August!!!!!

And f*ck whoever is making these decisions! First Ant-Man & Wasp gets delayed because of the f*cking World Cup, now MI, what's next? Don't tell me we'll get Aquaman in 2019 instead of December! f*ck fu*ck fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!!!
Usually we're the first to see American movies, even before 'Murica, but not during the summer... :(

Technically the after credit thing is a WB creation, I'm with Nolan, they're dumb storytelling, lazy marketing, if your characters arc is a good one you shouldn't need an after credit scene to hit ya over the head. And filming them early can cause continuity errors because after some time ideas can change, it's happened with the Thanos glove a couple of times, Wolverine after DOFP, a couple more.

@ARMUS - They're tools. Like any tool, they can be used well or poorly or misused altogether. Writing them off as "dumb" or "lazy" makes as much sense as dismissing montages or wipes or voice-over.

Off the top of my head, I'd say Guardians 2 is probably the best use of post-credits, because the film is overall a riot and then ends on a funeral. The credits, scenes, and music all combine to melt the emotions of the movie into a single unified stew. In theaters, it was practically a block party by the end of those credits.

@Spock0Clock - There are a few exceptions, with those exceptions being a wink to the audience and about the movie you've just seen ( Ferris Bueller is a good example)and not one with an advertisement to a movie with a 40% chance of being made, and if it is probably wont be the story teased in the after credit scene at all, it's happened more times than it hasn't, JL- we need a league of our own is another example. In 20 years time someone will see that, and the Marvel ones and think, Huh! I must've missed a movie or two. continuity is hard enough to keep track of, but to each our own.

@ARMUS - Assuming human culture doesn't collapse into a new dark age, I'm sure people in the future will be just fine. I mentioned above that I'm currently engrossed by two "dueling" blogs doing narrow recaps about a relatively obscure sci-fi series from twenty years ago. Those lucky jackasses in the future will not only have a detailed-annotated guide to all things geeky, they'll likely still have mountains of emoji-laden reaction tweets to work from, too.

(Side-note, I think I've discovered the single trait that determines whether someone is a conservative or a liberal: do they ship John/Aeryn.
Liberals know it's the greatest love ever committed to film.)
