FEATURE: Let's Take A Moment

In this brand new feature I'll be spotlighting great Marvel Comics moments which I would like to see make the jump into the MCU. Take a look!

Feature Opinion

TheManWithoutFear here with the first installment in a new feature called 'Let's take a moment'.  In this feature, I'll be looking over specific moments from the history of Marvel Comics and pitching where and why I think they should appear in the ever-expanding MCU.

For the first entry in this series I'll actually be retreading familiar ground for anybody that read my editorial from last month 'How I Would Introduce Spider-Man into the MCU'.  That's right, the first moment that I would LOVE to see translated to the silver screen comes from 2007's 'Amazing Spider-Man' #537 written by J. M. Straczynski with art by Ron Garney.

As I said in my editorial, I think this would be a fantastic moment for Spidey's first appearence in the MCU, ideally after the credits of Age of Ultron.  This is a powerful scene and it would immediately get people talking about Civil War which can only help the hype towards next summer's Captain America: Civil War.  A word-for-word adaptation would be my personal preference here, but any scene inspired by these pages would be awesome, as we saw in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the episode 'Along Came a Spider'.

I think it would be cool if this scene was not only the after credits stinger in AOU but also an actual scene from CA: CW, similarly to how the post-credits scene in Iron Man 2 was a scene from Thor.  Obviously we don't know yet if Spider-Man will even appear in Civil War but this feature is really about what I wish to see and not about predicting what will happen.

That's it for this installment, since this one was really a cheat-repeat I'll be back soon with number 2.  In the meantime, I'd love to hear your feedback and any suggestions for a future entry in this series (although I have more than a few in mind first!).  Shout out to @RextheKing for showing me how to embed a youtube video!  Peace!

A word for word adaptation wouldn't work in a movie, but it should pretty much remain the same speech, with some lines cut off.

I see this speech being used alongside a montage of the ending of the final battle in Civil War, we see Cap being taken to jail or something, and Iron Man stands victorious, but also notices the damages he's cause and the people's he's hurt. It's very unlikely to happen, though.

It's sad how we are not going to see a Civil War adaptation with Spider-Man as the main character.

Ooh i like the idea of the speech playing over a montage, that could be great. And look on the positive side Jedabak, think about all the goodness Marvel Studios has given us and will hopefully continue to give us!

@IronRuhail

Hahaha, totally. What's funny is if Favreau had full control, we probably would have seen a lot more Drunk Stark too, haha

Chris Evans ain't my Cap and he probably won't ever be. That being said, he improved with Cap 2
