It's time to put the hammer down! Thor, prince of Asgard, returns to Earth in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," and DST is revisiting their sold-out action figure from Thor: The Dark World with an all-new paint scheme and an all-new base!

Standing almost 8 inches tall, this Thor figure sports 16 points of articulation and a spot-on likeness of Chris Hemsworth from the film, and comes packaged in Select-style display packaging, with spine artwork for shelf reference. Sculpted by Gentle Giant!

Unfortunately, the image on the left is the biggest version available as of right now, but Diamond Select also have a Hulk action figure listed, so hopefully we'll see more of both soon. It looks pretty good, eh? Thoughts on Thor's new look?

Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson and hits May 1st, 2015.

UPDATE: Here's a much larger version of the action figure for you to take a look at!

Looks like they just repainted their Dark World Thor figure. Wouldn't be surprised. Back when Avengers came out they re-released their Iron Man 2 figure in an Avengers package. Diamond Select are notorious for their part reuse.

Either way. A cool figure. I just wish they'd stop [frick]ing around and release a Select-scale Fury and Natasha already. We have literally every other movie Avenger at this point besides them.

No sleeves turns into sleeves. Wonder what got Thor so pissed off in the first scene, since it's clearly not the same one where he picks up Tony.

@markv @blackestknight

The two with the helmet, seem to be based on the comic Thor, but they do not look as good, in my opinion.

Also, I assume this is the 1st version of Ultron

I love how Natasha is just casually looking at Thor approaching Tony to choke him.

@PAF Haha seriously. Plus Thor's face looks so ridiculously calm and unconcerned when he picks Tony up, at least compared to how angry he is in the previous shot.

@SauronsBANE

By Odin's Beard!! Great eye there, I wonder if all his metallic armor will just fuse on him as he's walking. A slow motion scene and that happening would be pretty neat. Still hoping to see him wear his HELMET in Infinity Wars or Thor 3.

LOL. No one is here for Tony's buffoonery.

I mean they could basically have him wear a motion capture green piece over his head and make it look like a helmet for action scenes. The CGI in today's world is tremendously getting better. And they could of course use a prop for up close scenes as well.

He will not have a helmet, just accept it guys.

Also, I think he looks better without the helmet. The one used in the first Thor movie was kinda weird.

It's beautiful. Only the helmet from Branagh's movie would make it better...

They changed the helmet for Bor with CGI, can't they add a [frick]ing helmet on Thor if it's so uncomfortable wearing the real thing?

Thor: Ragnarok will really be the last chance to truly capitalize Thor. I can accept the direction Marvel took him, but there's still so much to exploit.

TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 12/31/2014, 2:15 PM
@capcyclopsftw

Why do we even have to be "bitching" though? smh It's pretty obvious the fan base of the character wants to see him in his full glorious armory. I mean it's not like it's more that we can't "bitch" about (writing, villains, locations) but I think it's good we could all "bitch" about something so small. lol

yeah, I just wanna see it again, even for one battle or something...kinda like I wanna see this very soon!
