Anthony Mackie Teases AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR As The "Most Human" Marvel Film

Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War possesses the biggest scale for a superhero film ever, but that doesn't stop it from having a very "human" angle to it, according to Falcon actor Anthony Mackie...

Avengers: Infinity War is the most ambitious superhero film ever made, and with such a vast number of heroes sharing the screen at once, it's a difficult task to make sure every character gets their due. Star Anthony Mackie, (who plays Sam Wilson/Falcon) reassures fans that despite all the superheroic action, the film is a lot more personal than one might expect.

Avengers 3 is going to be very different and they’re gonna be a lot of shocking moments," Mackie told Entertainment Tonight. "And I think the fans are gonna get more than they expect out of this movie, from all characters. I think this is the most human of the Avengers movies, of all the Marvel movies. So I think you’ll be really surprised to see how normal these superheroes could be. It’s a very very interesting storyline that we’ve chosen to tell. Like I said, it just gives a humanity to all the characters.”

The MCU has always done its best to emotionally challenge their characters just as much as any physical supervillain; it will be interesting to see just what obstacles Earth's Mightiest Heroes will face outside of the might of Thanos.

Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theatres on April 27, 2018.

I feel the Russo and the end fight in Civil War carrying on through most of this movie.

I know everyone is like worried about Cap dying because of that last shot in the trailer, but what about Tony? Tbh I am more worried about Tony seeing as how his armor is shredded during his confrontation with Thanos

@MeAreLegend - I allocate my concern according to how devastated I will be if the character dies.

"I hope Cap doesn't die. I'm worried about him. Evans is so great in the role, and he's got a great caboose to boot. Oh please, I hope he doesn't get killed."

"And I hope Korg is okay. He's such a great little character, I would hate for him to only really be in one movie."

"Also, hopefully not Thor or Banner, since they just found their Waititi groove. Also, nobody else."

"(Also, not Tony.)"

Also, I think tony dying might be the best move the mcu can make, storytelling wise.

@MeAreLegend - I'm about 99% certain Tony is the only one who doesn't make it off of Titan.

Making these characters feel very human has been something Marvel has done pretty well I must say, so I'm confident in Mackie's words.

There's been a lot more talk about this movie shocking fans and that we should be careful with what we wish for. I'm trying to not have that weird combination of "excited to see that happen" and "worried that it's going to happen" in order to avoid disappointment, but the fact I think that they're really selling that tells a lot.

I think I remember leading up to Civil War the Russo's kept saying the movie would be different from the comics and we shouldn't expect certain things (Cap dying), but they've been teasing moments like that now.

@BlindWedjat - Everyone keeps saying "we should be careful with what we wish for." but I've been wishing for no deaths at all!

I'm getting the worst of all worlds. It's like the lactose intolerant guy who keeps getting force-fed ice cream by some Twilight Zone alien to teach me a lesson about humans eating too much ice cream!

@Spock0Clock - as someone who is lactose intolerant, ice cream is the absolute worst. That would be horrible. I am so sorry.

@Spock0Clock - Lol, agreed. I'm really not ready for a dead Captain America or any of the old guard. Even the new guard too. Yea they'll be a huge payoff likely but I'm not ready to accept that.

@BloodyBed - Man that's terrible. Dunno what I'd do without the ability to occasionally eat ice cream ):

@BlindWedjat - I still eat it. And pizza. I’ve only been lactose intolerant for a few years, so I can’t just give these things up.

It just... doesn’t come out very pleasantly.

I don’t get it. The characters seeming human is kinda this franchises thing. How is this movie more human than their other movies.
