Marvel's Infinity Saga Box Set was released back in November (with a hefty $549.99 price tag), and a deleted scene we hadn't been made aware of before now has been shared online via our friends at MCU Direct.

This unfinished sequence takes us back to Avengers: Infinity War when Wanda and Vision came under attack from members of Thanos' Black Order. Paul Bettany's android was criticized for being a bit useless in the theatrical cut of the movie, but here we see him go on the offensive and take out Corvus Glaive (who looks very different here to the version we saw in the finished film) by phasing through his back and ripping out his heart!

It's not clear why this scene was ultimately changed, but it's possible The Russos simply decided that Glaive shouldn't meet his end until the final act.

Check it out below along with some screencaps of the other deleted scenes, and let us know what you think in the comments.

Hulk and Dum-E in Tony Stark's Lab

Post image

We'll start with a shot of Professor Hulk getting annoyed with Dum-E while working in Tony Stark's lab.

This is a deleted scene from Avengers: Endgame, and while we don't have all the details of what the sequence would have entailed, it's believed that some of Stark's earlier Iron Man armors would have been involved.

Hank and Janet Pym

Post image

A shot of the de-aged Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer from Ant-Man and The Wasp.

In this scene, we would have learned that The Pyms were more directly involved in the accident that resulted in Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost developing her unstable powers than the theatrical version of the movie would have us believe.

Ant-Man and The Wasp V1

A look at the pair in their costumes as the original Ant-Man and The Wasp.

"Smart Hulk" In Infinity War

Post image

As we know, Professor Hulk was originally going to make his debut in Infinity War during the battle with Cull Obsidian, and this pre-VFX shot shows Mark Ruffalo interacting with Scarlett Johansson.

In the scene, Black Widow would have attempted to clam Hulk down with a lullaby before realizing that the Green Goliath and Bruce Banner had merged into one.

Hawkeye

Post image

Although he didn't wind up appearing in the theatrical release of the movie, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye was originally supposed to feature in Infinity War.

This is an unfinished test-shot of Barton protecting Vision from some Outriders.

Bad Zemo

Post image

Although Helmut Zemo went to great lengths to get his hands on the Hydra code diary in Captain America: Civil War, the character was originally going to commit a far more heinous act to acquire the book.

Worse Zemo

We would have caught up with Zemo at a black market auction for illegal weapons, where he would have used a gas to kill everyone in attendance before stealing his prize.

Odin on Earth

Post image

We don't have many details on this deleted scene, but it seems there was going to be a sequence involving Odin (Anthony Hopkins) paying a visit to his son (Chris Hemsworth) in Thor: The Dark World.

Captain Marvel Stand-In

Post image

It's been well documented that Joss Whedon wanted to introduce Captain Marvel in Avengers: Age of Ultron before Kevin Feige nixed the idea, but a scene featuring a stand-in for the character was filmed, and we have our first look at the mysterious actress here.

I liked that Vision and Wanda were the emotional through-line of Infinity War, and Vision can break the game in terms of power, so I get why they nerfed him.

@ShellHead - I have only heard say of how powerful he is. I had high hopes. And then, I feel like he's useless. And here we are, all the things I was invested in, gone. I'm out. This is good? Maybe it is..

@ShellHead - I agree completely. BUT, now that they’ve done that I’m ready to see him now show what he can fully do. He has the potential to stand out and be the best character, unlimited intelligence, a interesting view on humankind, and the ability to tear apart each Avenger IF he wanted too. Thor being the only one who maybe stands a chance. Show me that

This is VERY COOL but if we got this, then it becomes a question of "why did't Vision do this to everyone in the film?

I was fine with Corvus's blade injuring Vision to the extent that it did, causing him to be a step off.

@BlackBeltJones - the black orders powers where downgrade greatly ... and for good reason for the story arc ... because BW or even Falcon had no business in that first encounter ....

@knocturnalzen10 - Which was fine by me.

IF...you wanted to keep their abilities closer to how they are in the comics, then the scene would have had to basically go like:

1. Vision isn't as gravely injured as he is and he is at full strength against them as he and Wanda and ambushed. Maybe towards the end of the battle, one of The Order gets the upper-hand and injures him before Team Cap finishes them off.

2. Cap, BW, and Falcon can come and assist but they would basically have to do damage from the Quinjet; using its weapons. Sam could get away with flying and firing attacks from his wings at a distance.

@EmpressCipher - they weren't nerfed as much, no.
Vigor

@BlackBeltJones - that injury actually prevented him from phasing altogether

I watched infinity war some 30 times front to back and every time I see something new, however minor. Little details such as how they stopped vision from manhandling everyone by crippling him, are how you know the writers painstakingly detailed every scene. And is also why I love these films so much

@BlackBeltJones - I wish they had let the Vision get a few good licks in instead of being crippled at the very beginning of the fight.

@BlackBeltJones - It's why Justice League cartoons and comics sidelined Superman sometimes. If you have the most powerful guy in the battlefield at full power, there's no need for everyone else

He doesn’t seem to rip his heart out... just squeeze it and cause him to collapse.

My problem with the Vision in the MCU is that none of the films have really showcased his phasing powers, which his main thing. They’re kind of afterthoughts in action sequences, with nothing ever planned around showing the cool ways it could be used. This is a pretty basic comic move by the Vision, but at least it’s memorable and the focus of the scene, as opposed to “blink and you’ll miss it” use of phasing powers against Ultron bots, or randomly just drifting through Giant Man.

I get why they nerfed him in the flick, but this scene was badass.... and GOD OH GOD WHY DIDN'T WE GET THIS DESIGN FOR CORVUS GLAIVE

I'm guessing this scene wasn't included as it probably pushed the PG13 limit. They probably also changed Glaive's look to make him look less scary for kids.

I really wish they had kept this. Vision is one bad - um, robot.
