AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR VFX Compilation Reveals Incredible New Behind The Scenes Footage

A new VFX compilation for Avengers: Infinity War has been released, & it sheds some light on how a number of key sequences were created while also providing us with some fresh behind-the-scenes footage...

Avengers: Infinity War was an incredible movie and a true game-changer for the superhero genre. It also featured some pretty revolutionary visual effects so it's no wonder the Marvel Studios release is a firm favourite to win the Oscar for "Best Visual Effects" later this month.

Now, a VFX breakdown for the movie has been randomly released and it surprisingly features some never before seen behind-the-scenes footage.

It also provides some insight into the characters and sets which were enhanced with VFX; it turns out that the entire Iron Spider costume was created digitally, which does make sense when you think about, it but is still a surprise considering the fact that it looked extremely realistic in action on the big screen. It's a fairly brief video but well worth a watch.

Amazing, right? Avengers: Endgame is no doubt going to take things to the next level in terms of visual effects, especially as it's expected to be the biggest superhero movie of all-time.

The greatest comic book movie of all time, though likely to be usurped by Endgame. Just amazing work that went into the film.

Thanos looked so damn good in this film.

I was watching it in 4K the other day and it's crazy how detailed his face and hands are in the film.

@L0RDbuckethead - they add stubble to his face as time goes by in the film. Amazing attention to detail.

@L0RDbuckethead - Arm hair.

They straight up gave this dude actual hairs on his arm.

Unbelievable.

this isn't a bias statement but am i only one who felt like the visual work on IW was better than Avatar ....?

@knocturnalzen10 - hmm. This reminds me I need to rewatch Avatar. I think that the VFX of Thanos was better than any particular character in Avatar, but the VFX of Avatar as a whole was still superior. A good chunk of Infinity War occurs on Earth, whereas almost the entirety of Avatar is on a whole new world that Cameron created.

Brolin gave one of the best performances OF THE YEAR as Thanos.

Brought so much emotion to a cgi purple monkey haha.

OT, but saw this neat fan art of Terry Crews as J Jameson.

I don't mean to start anything but I swear Steppenwolf sometimes looked like he was at this stage

Every time I see scenes from Infinity War I remember that it was a film that actually happened and not a 2.5 hour wet dream

One little nitpick I had with this film is that during the Battle of Titan the force of gravity is a bit inconsistent.

Great [frick]ing fight though.
