AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR's Biggest Action Scene Will Be Larger In Scale Than CIVIL WAR's Airport Battle

The Russo Brothers talk here about just how big the biggest action scene in Avengers: Infinity War is going to be as well as spilling the beans on just how high the stakes are going to be for the heroes.

You may recall that the Russo Brothers described that epic airport battle in Captain America: Civil War as a "splash page" ahead of the movie's release and it definitely ended up delivering in that respect.

In terms of sheer scale, Avengers: Infinity War is obviously going to be even bigger than the movie which pitted Earth's Mightiest Heroes against each other and that's obviously going to be reflected in the action scenes. Asked if the Marvel Studios movie has an "equivalent" of that epic splash page, both Joe and Anthony Russo were quick to point out that they're going to deliver in a big way here.

You call the big airport scene in Civil War your big splash page, do you have the equivalent of that in this movie?

Joe: We have like an equivalent that’s like, you know if you had a comic book and you open it up to your double panel and then you fold it out. And then you folded it out again and again.

Anthony: And you have another comic book laid out next to it.

Joe: So we have the equivalent of that in this movie.

Well, it sounds like we can definitely expect to have our minds blown when April 27th rolls around!

It's not just the action scenes which are going to be bigger, though, because Anthony went on to address the stakes for our favourite heroes when they do battle with Thanos and it sounds like both The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy are going to get a lot more than they bargained for.

"We’ll say this. We like mature storytelling. We like dramatic storytelling. We like intense storytelling. I think we appreciate conflict, and we appreciate stakes. And without stakes, there really isn’t a lot of value to the story. And I think if you look at the Marvel [Cinematic] Universe as a whole as a story that’s been told for ten years, you can look at this as the climax. And the stakes will be higher in this movie than they’ve ever been, times ten."
