We have a lot of movies to go, including Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, before Avengers: Secret Wars is released. Despite that, it remains perhaps the most highly anticipated Multiverse Saga movie among fans, no great surprise given the comic book stories its title instantly brings to mind.
The moderators of Reddit's Marvel Studios Spoilers page have shared some new intel, and while this is best taken with a pinch of salt, they have been known to drop a lot of reliable scoops these past couple of years.
Following reports that The Beyonder will be a Kang Variant, it's said that all movies released after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be set in a Battleworld-style reality. That means Phase 6's movies are going to take place in a new MCU similar to what happened when Jonathan Hickman's Secret Wars was playing out.
Marvel Studios clearly has incredibly ambitious plans, and that may go some way in explaining why there are said to be "very very early talks" about splitting Avengers: Secret Wars into two movies.
We'd assumed The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars would be akin to Infinity War and Endgame, but if the Multiverse Saga's finale is really that big, this approach might make the most sense.
The rumour concludes by claiming that Doctor Strange 3 will be released prior to Secret Wars, while this story could even spill over into Phase 7, making that part of the Multiverse Saga as well. Given how massive the MCU has become since expanding to Disney+, that may be the only way to do this story justice and avoid it feeling rushed.
Only time will tell what Marvel Studios has planned, and we're guessing it won't be until Comic-Con that their plans for the second half of this Saga become clear.
Avengers: Secret Wars is set to be released in theaters on May 5, 2026.
