Marvel Studios' Plans For AVENGERS: SECRET WARS May Be Even Bigger Than We Anticipated

More possible details for Avengers: Secret Wars have found their way online, including the fact Marvel Studios may be considering splitting the movie in two! Find the latest rumours after the jump...

We have a lot of movies to go, including Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, before Avengers: Secret Wars is released. Despite that, it remains perhaps the most highly anticipated Multiverse Saga movie among fans, no great surprise given the comic book stories its title instantly brings to mind.

The moderators of Reddit's Marvel Studios Spoilers page have shared some new intel, and while this is best taken with a pinch of salt, they have been known to drop a lot of reliable scoops these past couple of years.

Following reports that The Beyonder will be a Kang Variant, it's said that all movies released after Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be set in a Battleworld-style reality. That means Phase 6's movies are going to take place in a new MCU similar to what happened when Jonathan Hickman's Secret Wars was playing out.

Marvel Studios clearly has incredibly ambitious plans, and that may go some way in explaining why there are said to be "very very early talks" about splitting Avengers: Secret Wars into two movies.

We'd assumed The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars would be akin to Infinity War and Endgame, but if the Multiverse Saga's finale is really that big, this approach might make the most sense.

The rumour concludes by claiming that Doctor Strange 3 will be released prior to Secret Wars, while this story could even spill over into Phase 7, making that part of the Multiverse Saga as well. Given how massive the MCU has become since expanding to Disney+, that may be the only way to do this story justice and avoid it feeling rushed.

Only time will tell what Marvel Studios has planned, and we're guessing it won't be until Comic-Con that their plans for the second half of this Saga become clear.

Avengers: Secret Wars is set to be released in theaters on May 5, 2026.

@thereeljoefish - this is the news we should be discussing, not lame ass rumors. I'll start going to cinemark if this is true:

@thereeljoefish - I mean, it's a lot more than that. It's been phase 4 as a whole, which counting the shows and movies is more projects than any other phase, and is nearly as many projects as the entire mcu.

@bobevanz - I have AMC A-List and if they even try this, I’m out. Total boycott of AMC venues.

@thereeljoefish - Trying to pass off Phase 4's problems as just "3 mediocre shows"...

I much rather just see a show set between the movies instead.

We'll probably get three movies in between (my guess is Spider-Man 4, Armor Wars and Shang-Chi 2), and I much rather see them not being limited by taking place on Battleworld.

Unless it makes no difference if all of New York City, San Francisco and Ta Lo all are part of it and doesn't hinder their stories in any way.

@bkmeijer1 - Maybe Spider-Man 4 could be solo Peter (he stays out of Kang Dynasty) and then the post-credits scene is him heading into Battleworld to do a Secret War?

Hype has all but diminished after Thor 4. I see it as a good thing. I can go in with no expectations, and take away whatever good it brings.

So, they are not even trying to hide that the MCU became a cameofest?

Yup, I'm jumping ship after Guardians 3.

@TheHumanSpider2 - they learned from Endgame and No Way Home that it pays more to have cameos over plot

@TheHumanSpider2 - Judging by the comic panel accompanying this article, could we finally see a Thunderball vs. Absorbing Man ball fight that we've all been waiting for?

Molecule Man could be a Big Bad all by himself, I would save him for the FF to stop them jumping straight into Galactus stuff.

@Corruptor - Molecule Man as a Fantastic Four movie villain? I like that.

Could even already see that be the case, and that's the reason we're getting FF before Secret Wars.

@IMCOOLURNOT - it is? Saw it pass by on my feed but didn't really bother with it. Sounded to me like pretty run-of-the-mill WWII story
