Quite a few rumors relating to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars have been doing the rounds of late, but these latest details from insider @MyTimeToShineH might be the most intriguing yet - at least for those disappointed about a certain team-up that was originally set to happen many years ago never coming to pass.
It's common knowledge that Hugh Jackman was going to make a brief appearance as Wolverine in Sam Raimi's first Spider-Man movie before the idea fell apart, and if this latest rumor is to be believed, his take on Logan will finally get to cross paths with Tobey Maguire's wall-crawler in Secret Wars.
All we have to go on is: "Tobey Maguire and Hugh Jackman will meet and fight alongside each other in Secret Wars."
The scooper also shared some new plot intel on The Kang Dynasty. Apparently, the next Avengers film "will have the New Avengers as the leads. While Secret Wars will mostly be from the point of view and will focus on the heroes from the other universes."
We assume "New Avengers" refers to the individuals who will make up the next iteration of Earth's Mightiest Heroes who will assemble throughout Phase 5. As for the Multiversal characters, the 2005 Fantastic Four team and at least a handful of Fox-era X-Men are rumored, but nothing has been confirmed.
MyTimeToShineHello has been sharing a lot of MCU-related rumors recently, some of which do, admittedly, sound a little far-fetched. This has understandably led to a bit of skepticism, but it's worth noting that quite a few of their earlier scoops have panned out, and, from what we can gather, they are a legit industry insider with access to this sort of information.
Even so, it's obviously best not to put too much stock in any of these (potential) plot details for the time being. These movies are still a long way off, so even if there is some truth to these reports, a lot can change before cameras roll.
