As previously reported,
Avengers: Endgame will
mark the final cameo appearance from Stan Lee; but, this won't be the last we see of Marvel Comics legend. Speaking to EW, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that the studio has put together a compilation video featuring behind-the-scenes footage of all of Stan Lee's cameos.
“We’ve put a video together,” Feige revealed during a roundtable with the original six Avengers.
“We’ve never done this before, a behind-the-scenes of every cameo. All the B-roll that was shot and his stand-ups there. His passing was very emotional for all of us, but it suddenly all came back to me just when I watched it.”
The footage reportedly dates back to the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Lee's cameo in 2008's
Iron Man. Also included in the compilation video is
“the deleted cameo, the first cameo he did on Avengers, when you two were in the cafe outside," Feige said, referring to Chris Evans. The scene features Cap taking a bit of flak from Stan the Man.
Feige confirmed that the studio does intend to release the video, and it's possible it could be included as an extra bonus feature on the home-release of
Avengers: Endgame.
Recalling his time with Stan Lee, here's what Feige had to say about the legendary creator.
"The amazing thing is, just as you’ve all said, he said the right thing to the right person at all times. Every interaction was what one’s dream interaction with Stan Lee would be.
"He left me a voicemail once, in 2004 or something. I’d never gotten a voicemail from Stan Lee, and I kept it for years until I think the phone disintegrated. But it was: ‘Fearless Feige! Stan Lee here….’ I listened to it over and over and over. That’s what he was always like — always supportive."
You can catch Stan Lee's final MCU cameo in
Avengers: Endgame when it hits theaters this week on April 26.
