Rumour has it that all of Benedict Cumberbatch's Avengers: Infinity War scenes will be shot with a stand-in due to the actor's work on The Current War, with him later added in digitally through reshoots and the like. That news came as something of a disappointment to fans as it obviously won't be quite the same knowing the Doctor Strange star wasn't really there at the time.
Well, in a new interview, Cumberbatch debunked those claims, though it still sounds like he won't be able to make it to Atlanta for each and every one of the Sorcerer Supreme's scenes!
"I think it’s a bit of an exaggeration," he explains in the video below. "There’s a great deal that can be done in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and any comic universe. Whether it’s hiding a pregnancy, to having someone there who’s on another side of the world, but there’s only so much they can do without you. So, I’ll be there. Don’t worry."
It's definitely good to think that Cumberbatch will be there for some of the shoot, especially as Doctor Strange played such a key role in the Infinity Gauntlet comic book. Asked for details on the movie, he wouldn't give anything away, but did confirm that he's read the script! "I’ve got a script and I’ve been reading it and it’s very, very good fun."
