What did we see in the teaser trailer altogether? Uh, well not all that much thanks to the fairly awful quality! However, what we did all catch a glimpse of was undoubtedly awesome! New costumes for Captain America and Thor! Our first look inside the Helicarrier! Brief glimpses of Maria Hill, Hawkeye and the new Bruce Banner! Not to mention plenty of intriguing scenes, including Loki being led away by agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and a bunch of explosions. Apart from the Hulk, it had near enough everything you could possibly want.

So, what did you guys make of it? Well, unlike The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man, an HD version has yet to find its way online, but here are the results for what you thought about the leaked trailer for The Avengers!

What do you guys make of these results? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place, and thanks for voting!

STARRING:

I really don't see how anyone could vote worst trailer ever. Honestly this is kind of a big deal here. Even if you don't like Marvel you could at least respect the effort. If this works than everyone wins, the possibility of a Justice League movie goes up and we get more comic movies.

I'm worried this morning for this film for the first time. Been waiting 35 years for this but after reading some of the Cap reviews I am now bricking it a bit. Watched Iron Man 2 again the other night and was almost bored during it. Getting to think maybe our love for these characters are blinding us to the fact the movies arn't great. Will see Cap on premier night and just hope they got it right. Gonna go off now, to a dark empty room and just sit there.......

Hey Guys Ebert put out a review for Cap:

http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20110720/REVIEWS/110729997/1023

"I enjoyed the movie. I appreciated the 1940s period settings and costumes, which were a break with the usual generic cityscapes. I admired the way that director Joe Johnston ("October Sky" and "Jumanji") propelled the narrative. I got a sense of a broad story, rather than the impression of a series of sensational set pieces. If Marvel is wise, it will take this and "Iron Man" as its templates. See it in 2-D if you can. "

Ebert is also the guy who said Green Lantern was better than THOR wtf. His opinion means nothing.

@thebeastunderyourbed - lol actually Thor and Green Lantern is exactly the same. They both suffer from great flaws. But Green Lantern was the better, no doubt.

isn't Hulk supposedly shown at the end of this teaser where Thor is throwing his hammer? i have heard from a few people that he is throwing it at Hulk.

I really enjoyed the trailer - mainly because for what it represents. An Avengers film!!

But I am very surprised they showed so much so early on!

We saw all the characters and Loki, hellicarrier interior, etc.

As a teaser for something for nearly 10 months away I thought we would have got a few subtle shots of a hammer, a shield and a repulsor near each other and then a logo.

Then followed with the money shot of "Gentlemen. You're up!"

Mark will probably only HULK OUT in the climax scene of the film, which is fine by me as well as understandable.. BUT I wish they would've flashed a panicked Bruce, or at least shown some "eye change" as the last little kick to the teaser, instead of a sarcastic Stark remark IMO

I loved it though! I am VERY stoked for this movie!

MoonDoggyX
MoonDoggyX - 7/21/2011, 6:04 AM
Marvel is planning more Cap, Thor and Iron Man movies, so if ya think about it The Avengers is a "Lose/Lose" situation for them. Either it will be the best CBM ever, which will make the solo films seem lackluster, or it will be not live up to the build up/hype and not succeed. Like IGN said, Marvel movies are good, but not great because they don't take risks...
thunderforce
thunderforce - 7/21/2011, 6:15 AM
@moondoggyx Marvel don't take risks ? The whole freaking Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge risk . So large of a risk that no one has ever done anything like it before , to actually make movies just like the comics in a shared universe where anything can happen and anyone can show up .
Lockjaw
Lockjaw - 7/21/2011, 6:46 AM

I don't think i've been so excited watching a trailer since the empire strikes back.

Avengers will be incredible.
MoonDoggyX
MoonDoggyX - 7/21/2011, 6:49 AM
@thunderforce - "The whole freaking Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge risk" That is very true so Marvel plays their movies safe. They are not willing to risk the movie being bad or not successful so nothing is too stylized or over the top as far as action... so far, anyway. Their strategy works, for the most part. All of their movies are good, but nothing more. I REALLY hope cap breaks that trend...

does anyone have a link to this video i missed it
Fogs
Fogs - 7/21/2011, 7:25 AM
@MoonDoggyX - I think the overall Marvel cinematic universe style is present in specific scenes in each one of the movies.

I agree that they use the classic hero story formula, but besides chinese movies and stuff, which action/adventure don't?
MoonDoggyX
MoonDoggyX - 7/21/2011, 9:58 AM
@Acklash - The formula is fine, but the movies lack good action and excitement. With the exception of the Hulk/Abomination in TIH, there hasn't been any great, memorable, edge of your seat action and any of the marvel films.

whens the trailer officially cominng out?
KungFuKoala
KungFuKoala - 8/1/2011, 5:23 AM
I liked the Thor Loki fight, but it wasn't very tense.
Cap/Red Skull was meh.
Whiplash was boring.
Iron Monger was ok.
Hulk/Abomination was good, I just didn't like the recreation of Abomination - he seemed too much like a cartoon villain.

Marvel need to create some epic battles which last longer than 2 minutes and keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
