UPDATED: New (Brief) Scene Description From The Avengers Confirms Loki As One Of The Villains!

EXCLUSIVE: Hit the jump to read new, but very brief description of the scene from Joss Whedon - directed big screen adaptation of The Avengers, that might confirm Loki's presence in the movie.

Before reading any further, there is a possible spoiler so be warned!

So, a trusted source close to the production of Marvel Studios' highly anticipated comic book adaptation, The Avengers, was kind enough to share a new, but very brief scene that is being worked on right now in pre-production (storyboards and previz).

One of the things the source told me, is that Thor will be in a number of battle sequences in the movie. One of the scenes that they are also working on is a huge fight scene of The Incredible Hulk and Thor going at it downtown in some city. Another scene (and this is the spoiler part) is where Thor fights Tony Stark (Iron Man) so he could get Loki back from S.H.I.E.L.D. possession.

In a way this definitely confirms Tom Hiddleston being a part of the film. I've been hearing that they were working on Loki being a villain from the start. And in the headline I wrote "one of the villains" because I know there were rumors about Skrulls being in it, and that's still probably happening since they are going with the whole cosmic approach. I should mention that all this is previz stuff, and things get cut out every time. Keep that in mind.

Also, I asked about Captain America: The First Avenger. Nothing big here, but he told me that the film is looking great.

"Well, the footage is really nice, easily the best looking thing Marvel has shot. It's got a gorgouse vintage look to it, it looks like a mix between Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Rocketeer which would make total sense. Johnston seems to be keeping to his heavy use of practical effect which is great. From the short sequences I have seen, it looks like Cap gets pretty physical and doesn't hold back."

UPDATE: Hey guys...As you can see I haven't posted anything that says this is an April Fools article. And by the comments, I just wanted to tell you that it's not fake. Source who told me this was also the one who gave me Minor Updates On THOR And X-Men: First Class back in January before the trailer came out. Everything the source told me, was true so far. So yeah, I just wanted to let you know this.

Thanks to DCMF for that awesome banner!

With the cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson and Cobie Smulders, The Avengers is set to hit theatres on May 4, 2012!

I'm not sure I believe it. Not just because it's April Fools day, but because I'm not sure why Loki would be contained by SHIELD. Thor is obviously going to triumph over Loki at the end of Thor, but wouldn't Odin just lock up Loki or something like that?

I don't think this is fake. It would fitt with the way marvel has done stuff in thier books. Even though Loki is a villain he is still Thors brother and Thor never lets anyone else screw with Loki except himself. and who knows who Thor ends maybe after he kicks his ass he banishs him to earth.

Thor vs. Iron Man and The Avengers together vs The mind[frick]ed Hulk would be PURE EPICNESS!!:D

Loki is great choice!:) But i would rather see Hydra as the other villain in this movie over Skrulls!:/
Hydra and return of Red Skull is what i wanna see!

First of all, GREAT stuff. Hope it's legit. Also, to DarkMatter and Chop26, a THOUSAND thank you's for posting those pages! I saw a Thor theatrical tralier before Paul last night, and it had a little bit of footage I don't remember seeing before. I am a Cap guy all the way....as I'm sure the avatar suggests....but after seeing the Thor trailer on the big screen, I am WAY pumped for Thor now! I gotta say, Hemsworth looks like the real deal. The GF turned to me at the end of the trailer and said, "I'm excited for you. I actually have goose bumps...and not just because of the shirtless Hemsworth scene!"

On the note of people looking like the real deal, is anyone else impressed with how Neal McDonough looks like he totally has become Dum Dum Dugan? Something about his body language in the pic Wolvie put in the article just looks like the gen-yoo-INE article to me. And while I'm on a rant, I love that pic for the way it suggests that we are on the verge of seeing Rogers become Captain America, legendary warrior, and not just Captain America, the experiment. I love how he's off kind of on his own, while everyone else is standing there appearing to watch him. That still almost give ME a chill.

@MrAnonymus, that's one of my only beefs w/ Iron Man - No matter how overpowered his enemy is, he can simply build a suit that's able to handle it.

I'm surprised he hasn't yet built GALACTUSBUSTER ARMOR.

It's sort like the way Batman is undefeatable simple because he's always 5 steps ahead of any situation he finds himself in. There HAS to be a limit to technology in comics, and there HAS to be a limit to a characters IQ. Otherwise they both have unbeatable characters, which to me is kind of unfair.
