Batgirl star Leslie Grace has taken to Instagram to share a first official look at Barbara Gordon fully suited-up as Gotham's other Caped Crusader!
Photos from the Glasgow, Scotland set of the HBO Max movie have been finding their way online all week, and it looks like Warner Bros. decided to get the jump on the leaked snaps by giving Grace the go-ahead to share this image. This probably means that more unofficial snaps are on the way, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates.
The costume is highly comic-accurate, and the design appears to be primarily inspired by the hero's look in the 2014 relaunch. There also seems to be a bit of Yvonne Craig's outfit from the classic '60s Batman TV series in there.
“I use their expectations against them. That will be their weakness. Not mine. Let them all underestimate me," Grace captioned her post. "And when their guard is down, and their pride is rising, let me kick their butts.” - Batgirl, Year One
Batgirl will also star J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon, and Jacob Scipio and Brendan Fraser in undisclosed roles (the latter is believed to be playing the villainous Firefly). It's also been confirmed that Michael Keaton's Batman will appear.
Loki composer Natalie Holt recently announced that she's signed on to work on the movie's score, while Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and also worked on Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the most recent draft of the script.
The HBO Max movie is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. No release date has been announced.
