Details For BATMAN: ASSAULT ON ARKHAM And SON OF BATMAN Animated Movies Confirmed
As well as when we can expect the two adaptations to be released next year, previously expected plot details for DC's animated features Batman: Assault On Arkham and Son Of Batman have been confirmed.
At San Diego Comic-Con last week, three new DC animated films were announced for 2014: Justice League: War, Son Of Batman, and Batman: Assault On Arkham. We knew that the former is based on the New 52 Justice League "Origin" story arc, but details for the other two were initially sketchy (but drew in solid speculation). Now, The World's Finest has confirmed some specs for the direct-to-video features. Son Of Batman, which is targeting a Summer 2014 release and is currently in production, is based on Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert's 2006 "Batman And Son" storyline, which introduced Damian Wayne/Robin to the DC universe. Cast and crew details are unknown, but will be announced later this year or early 2014.
As for Batman: Assault On Arkham, the movie will be released Fall 2014 and takes place in the same universe as the highly successful Arkham video games. Talent from the franchise will be involved with the film, and it will contain "fresh" animation rather than reuse game footage. The video game series' next installment, Batman: Arkham Origins, hits shelves October 25th. Finally, The World's Finest has confirmed that voice recording for the first DC animated feature of 2015 is underway. Which of these films are you looking forward to most?
