BATMAN RETURNS Star Michelle Pfeiffer Would Reprise The Role Of Catwoman "If Anyone Asked" Her

For many, Michelle Pfeiffer's Selina Kyle remains the strongest take on the classic Batman villain to date, and it sounds like the Batman Returns actress would be open to returning to the role...

The Flash will see Michael Keaton return as his iconic take on Batman from Tim Burton's movies, potentially leaving the door open for other previous incarnations of DC Comics characters to show up via the Multiverse.

Fans have been hoping to see Michelle Pfeiffer back in the Cat-suit as Batman Returns' feline femme fatale, but it seems no one has been in touch with the actress about reprising the role. If she were to get that call, it sounds like she'd be happy to pick up the whip again!

While speaking to Screen Rant to promote her new film French Exit, Pfeiffer was asked if she'd be interested in joining her Batman Returns costar in the upcoming Flash movie as Selina Kyle, and said she would "if anyone asked me, but no one's asked me yet."

The Flash's script was finished some time ago and the movie is scheduled to head into production in April, so if nobody has reached out to Pfeiffer about making an appearance by now, it's probably not going to happen. There are bound to be more Multiverse adventures in the pipeline, though, so there's always a chance we could see her roar back onto the big screen as Catwoman in the future.

Alongside Keaton in a live-action The Dark Knight Returns movie, perhaps? Hey, a boy can dream.

Love Keaton as Batman but I want to focus on Pattinson there’s too many Batman flicks coming out. I’d like the flash movie to focus on the flash

@whynot - thank you for not being a fanboy.

i would so much rather mark out about having thomas wayne batman in this played by jeffery dean morgan and flash delivering the letter to robert pattison.

michael keaton should just be used for a dark knight returns movie and batman beyond.

@whynot - I can't believe they're gonna label Batman as an alternate earth and give us yet another new Batman as part of the other earth.

There may even be 3 Justice League franchises going on at the same time! Snyder's Justice League, post-Flashpoint DCEU Justice League and Battinson Justice League.

Am I the only one that thinks a third Tim Burton-Batman movie would be awesome?

It shouldn't have anything to do with Pattinsons Batman or the DCEU but just be a stand alone sequel to Batman '89 and Batman Returns with Keaton and Pfeiffer reprising their roles.

Other returning characters could include Vicki Vale, Alexander Knox and Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face.

It's not that the movie is really needed, but it would be nice if Burton got a chance to finish his trilogy imo.

@ChrisRed - How about a Batman Beyond movie set in the future with Keaton as Batman but no specific past.

@ChrisRed - yes. a bunch of cry baby pussies killed the franchise in the first place. batman returns is still better than dark knight rises.

@aresww3 - People said it was too dark and it was scaring the children so they made it more kid-friendly and toyetic with the Schumacher movies and look where that led.

They said the same thing about BvS and look where that led too.

Lesson learned?
Never ever tell Warner Bros. their shit is too dark. Ever. It leads to very bad things.

@GwenLantern - Exactlty. It is such a stupid criticism of a movie. Like it is very, very rare that I will criticize a movie for being too dark. And it basically has to be akin to a snuff movie like The Antichrist (look it up. But don't watch it :))

It is the laziest critique one can make of a movie. You can criticize lack of character depth, or if it isn't entertaining or if the theme of the movie contradicts itself or the plotholes or the script or dialogue. But the tone of a movie whether it be light or dark is never the problem with a movie. Shazam and guardians of the Galaxy are very light and they are good movies. Batman Begins, Joker, Watchmen and Daredevil are quite dark and they are good movies.

If I were to criticize BvS, I would criticize only two elements. Poor character development and Superman is not Superman and does not contrast with Batman enough ideologically to make their conflict make sense. That's the problem with the movie. It's tone and the fact it takes the heroes seriously is one of the more refreshing aspects of the movie.

The worst thing is they even ruined Wonder Woman by listening to this bizarre critique of the DC universe.

Would prefer Nic Cage appearing as Earth-89 Superman and meeting Keaton Batman.

But her Catwoman is a close second.

Definitely wouldn’t mind seeing what Pfeiffer’s Selina Kyle was up to after the events of Returns.

With Keaton's Bruce Wayne, and hopefully Pfeiffer's Selina Kyle Wayne, I think most people are hoping for an adaptation of Batman Beyond. They could bring in Terry, Babs, Helena, Dick, Tim, Jason Damian, Carrie, etc.

They should have just planned on making a Batman 3/Batman Beyond movie instead of this Flashpoint shit.
GwenLantern
GwenLantern - 1/30/2021, 9:47 AM
@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - They could do both. Maybe Flashpoint will lead to Batman Beyond.

Maybe once the timeline's fixed we get a glimpse of the Batman Beyond future with Keaton in the Bruce Wayne Beyond suit... That would lead to a Batman Beyond origin movie.

@GwenLantern - I don't see the reason for connecting the Burtonverse to the DCEU. They could just keep it all separate like they did for Joker and The Batman.

She's a great actress. Even for a small cameo I'd be happy with her return.

Even as a kid watching this movie I never thought there was anything supernatural about her Catwoman.

@Stinkor1 - It's possible she could have survived all her "deaths". Even the bullets at the end, if they didn't hit any arteries.

Her fall from that building is broken by all those canopies on the way down, her fall from the umbrella was broken by all those plants (and it was only a short fall) and when Batman pushes her she's "Saved by kitty litter".

Catwoman was totally human.
