Sending in some photos of himself to TomHardy.org, the British actor has shown off just how much he's bulked up in preparation for his role as Bane in the third installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise, The Dark Knight Rises. You can see a full gallery of images over at the site, but here are two of the best.





With an all star cast which includes Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!

I am envisioning a rubber-muscle suit for him since Bane is too big for just his normal muscles. If not, its not going too look very impressive.

shooting doesnt start till what lat may early june? To become ripped you have to bulk up first, with around a month until showtime I think he will go another week of bulking and then the rest getting cut.. its a long process to be badass ;)

He's a bit bigger than Bale was in Begins, but shorter. Bane should be at least 6 inches taller than Batman. Hardy is a good enough actor, but I'm not seeing how this is gonna work.

He's gonna own the character. For all the whiners, do you want an actor or a steroid freak? Seriously, find me an "actor" as big as you think Bane should be who can actually act. I don't think Ah-nuld at his biggest "Conan the Barbarian" size would satisfy some of you, but then again I return to my previous statement.

jesus i hope they cgi him in the big hulk like bane or b/c its not nolans style to use much cgi ::rolls eyes:: they can use prosthetics. otherwise a small same size as Batman Bane will be horrible.

I know he can pull it off just based on how well he's been in his previous roles. Hes bigger than he was and I believe they can fix the height and have Him be Bane pre venom. Then CGI the rest of the muscles onto him when he is on venom. I mean look what they did with Two Face using cgi.

this is nolan!! we will be seein a completely new version of bane done nolans way and it will be fantastic the man likes to put his spin on the characters hardy will be great
