THE BATMAN: Matt Reeves' Film Has Reportedly Taken Its First Steps Towards Entering Production

Before you get too excited, this really isn't much of an update - however, if the report is accurate, WB and director Matt Reeves have taken the first steps towards bringing The Batman to the big screen.

Aside from director Matt Reeves' assurances that the movie is still going to happen and confirmation that a first draft of the script has been handed in, we haven't had any official updates on The Batman in quite some time.

We may finally get some details at SDCC next month, but in the meantime, here's another rumor!

According to BOF, Warner Bros. has begun hiring production staff to work on the Dark Knight's latest solo outing, which means that pre-production should be underway fairly soon, and the movie could, potentially, start shooting at some point next year.

Obviously this is all a bit tenuous and there's a healthy dose of speculation at play, but, assuming this information is accurate, there's a chance The Batman could be in theaters by 2020.

What do you guys make of this? Are you expecting any official announcements at Comic-Con? Sound off below.
