The mayor of Newark, New Jersey has claimed that he met with a studio team and producer to discuss the possibility of
The Dark Knight Rises being filmed in the city. He also says that movie executives are currently scouting the city to film some scenes. He also jokingly suggested that he would play Nightwing (let's assume that's complete rubbish!).
Despite this, a publicist for the film is saying that it's too early to consider such talks. From
NJ.com:
Newark Mayor Cory Booker says movie executives are scouting New Jersey's largest city to possibly film some scenes there for a new Batman movie.
On his Twitter account, Booker says he met with a producer and "studio team" for the movie. Booker also says he suggested that he star as Nightwing, the DC Comics character that Dick Grayson became as an adult after giving up his role as Robin.
The acting role doesn't seem promising, though. Booker says the executives smiled politely and looked at their watches.
A publicist for the movie says it's too early to talk about locations being considered.
The Dark Knight Rises arrives in theaters July 20th, 2012!
