Mark Millar Knows Who The Villains Will Be In Batman 3!

And he knows all about the Wolverine 2 script as well! Hit the jump to hear what he had to say about that as well as his teases about the "very unexpected" Batman 3 villains...

While over at the New York Comic Con, Mark Millar has made a few very interesting "Tweets" via his Twitter account (which you can find by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page) where he reveals that he knows who the villains will be in the next installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise!

"Oh, wait. Con gossip: I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale."

"One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected."

Pretty intriguing, huh? With Wanted and Kick-Ass already on the big screen and Nemesis on the way, it's not hard to believe that the critically acclaimed comic book writer has some studio connections that might have let the above information slip! Also interesting was what he then went on to reveal in another Tweet:

"Also, a pal told me Wolverine 2 script is one of the best he's ever read. This is a guy I totally trust and he agrees the first one sucked."

A good script from Fox!? Could Wolverine 2 be their first decent comic book movie? And who exactly do you think might be the villain(s) in Batman 3? Be sure to share your thoughts on all this in the usual place!

I bet he's lying. I just don't trust Millar, he chats a load of bollocks.

sure he does. He also knows who killed Kennedy, where the Loch Ness monster is, where bigfoot came from, which planet aliens live on, and where Jimmy Hoffa's body is.

"Their first decent comic book movie"....?

Where were you in 2000 and 2003 when everyone and his brother on the internet were proclaiming "X-Men" and particularly "X2" the second coming of Christ? :P

Robotpo: I know I'm in the minority, but I've never liked Bryan Singer's X-Men movies. There were far too many liberties taken and they just didnt get either the tone or character right in my humble opinion. :P You've got to admit that everything else they've done has been crap though, lol!

I liked the Singer verse X-Men Movies but as a stand alone universe, i would never compare them to the comics because...well...they don't compare. but i did enjoy them.

JoshW, well I haven't seen anything else Fox has done, so I wouldn't know. I HAVE NOT heard a single good thing, though! :P

However, if you didn't like any of the other X-Men films, I wouldn't get my hopes up for Wolverine 2, if I were you... :P

I think it's believable enough that Millar would be able to find out stuff like this...as I've said above, he's bound to have some inside sources now he's so involved with the movie world!

And nicely said LEE - it's good to see that even someone who liked the first two X-Men movies can see that they cant stand up to the likes of what we're now getting! Thank God for Marvel Studios!

Robotop: I wouldnt bother checking them out if I were you, lol! :P Fantastic Four, Elektra, X-Men 3, Daredevil...the list of dreadful movies they've made goes on and on! (although the latter had some great moments to be fair) I have low expectations when it comes to any Fox movie to be honest!

Old Villain. Yeah that narrows it down a lot. But I guess that means Hush is out. Which will make some people unhappy since most want one of the more modern people.

I believe that he could get ahold of the Wolverine script. But I don't believe for a SECOND that Nolan would let him find out the details of the next Batman movie.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 10/4/2010, 7:13 AM
Hopefully that means no Riddler, considering EVERYONE pretty much expects him.

Riddler is one of the worst villains ever...

@ dynamo

maybe Nolan didn't have anything to do with him finding out.

Caine said Nolan won't tell anyone who the villain in the film is.

"No one will tell you. Chris is the most secretive man in the world. The first time when he asked me to do 'Batman Begins', I played a butler, he came to my house on a Sunday morning, he had the script. He went and said, 'Can you read it now,' so I read it and said, 'It's fantastic, I'll do it' so I went to put the script in my office and he said, 'No, I want it back.'

Thats an above quote from Michael Caine, If Nolan wont tell him the villian. He sure as hell isnt gonna tell that self hype no talent piece of a crap Millar

This below is a piece of trivia from IMDD About The Dark Knight

Whilst filming in Chicago, Wanted (2008) was the neighboring production, and Morgan Freeman worked concurrently on both films. At one point, Wanted comic book writer Mark Millar visited the set but without permission. The security and Lauren Shuler Donner (who also visited the set at that time) caught Millar sitting on the Batpod. Millar was escorted away from the set.

So he was told to get off the set and now he's best buds with Nolan. Somebody shut him up please.

JoshW, I certainly wasn't defending Fox. I think Tom Rothman is pretty much the biggest idiot in the world.

Now they're screwing with the Alien Prequels!:

I also think(if he is telling the truth) that this means it won't be The Riddler(Thank God") since he's hardly what you would call unexpected. Neither is Catwoman really. And if Millar liked the character as a kid its not someone newer like Bane or Croc either. Penguin? Nahhhhhh....

Who knows.

Deadshot WAS created in the 50s and by Bob Kane himself.

I beleive him. People in the know, in the industry are aware of these things almost from the get go. How do you think they cast almost an entire movie before the public even knows it's being made. I also think he loves to draw attention to himself and should keep his mouth shut.

How old is Miller? We need to figure out what classic story lines were taking place when he was between 12 and 15.

Scene outside of Gotham? Totally timely locale? Could we be seeing the Return of Ra's al Ghul? I'm sure Nolan would love to work with Liam Neeson again. Ra's followers could've taken his broken body back with them to somewhere in the Middle East and dipped it in the Lazarus Pit…
Dynamo
Dynamo - 10/4/2010, 8:04 AM

Millar's 40, so the story would be around the 80s
condequently thats when Black Mask first appeared.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 10/4/2010, 8:09 AM
Dynamo: Black Mask sure would tie in nicely to Nolans Batworld.

Did Deadshot have any famous runs during that timeframe?

I dunno, I know he was one of the early ones though. 1950s.
@Teabag, maybe... assuming they go with the Skull design. He hasn't always had a skull face.

Hawks- You do have a point! In fact, you have several. I wouldn't be the least surprised if he just opened his yap simply to snag more spotlight. And i don't think it would be too much of a stretch for him to find The Riddler as "unexpected" either.

Dynamo- The Riddler might be the most "expected" villain but i think you're on to something here. Black Mask is most certainly the easiest villain to fit in Nolan's vision. But i don't see him as much more than a mob boss which in my opinion is a bit tame and lame. I like riddles and the detective skills he'd need against Riddler, i also like a great physical challenge such as Lady Shiva. But Mob Bosses such as Black Mask and Penguin just don't do it for me. I hope Nolan knocks it out of the park for the last chapter.

telavizion- You and me BOTH, bud ;)

I know The Ventriloquist can't carry a movie on his own as the main villain but i really hope we get to see him in this! Opening takedown FTW!!! He's the only Mob Boss with a decent twist to make him entertaining enough IMO.

If he does know, why does he need to tell everyone that he knows? Also, Fox has made 2 good superhero movies so far and First class comes out before W2 and it is not looking bad at all either. And up to "2days" standards, Ironman 2 was pretty crap!
Jackwagon
Jackwagon - 10/4/2010, 8:39 AM
How about Ra's daughter Talia? That would be very unexpected. She could play Bruce's latest love interest, setting up Batman 4 for the ultimate betrayal.....
