The Dark Knights production company has been distributing leaflets to residents in and around Hong Kong, informing them of increased noise activity coming soon. Apparently, with levels reaching those of busses (suuure), a helicopter and a C130 will be making low flying swoops over the Hong Kong skyline.
And, if you’re wondering, a C130 is a four-engine turboprop cargo aircraft and the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide. It weighs in at 83,000 lb (38,000 kg), and measures 97 ft 9 in (29.8 m) in length and 132 ft 7 in (40.4 m) from wingtip to wingtip.
This is the first time that Batman has been filmed outside of Gotham, and Christian Bale will be accompanied by co-star Morgan Freeman. This suggests that the reason for a visit to Hong Kong is Wayne Enterprises business, but what Batman’s appearance is will be unknown until we see the movie.
A major outdoor stunt is set to be filmed at the International Finance Centre (IFC) complex while the Peninsula Hotel will be used for other scenes. Whether the “major outdoor stunt” involved the low flying aircraft, is unknown. This will be the first time that IMAX cameras will be used in Hong Kong.
