Now that Chris Nolan is wrapping up his batman trilogy which continuation of the batman legacy would you like to be translated to the silver screen.

1 - Batman Beyond
this take on batman started running in 1999 gaining critical claim and fans of all ages. But could it translate well to the big screen.

2 - The Dark knight returns
Frank millers master piece would create epic storyline for a sequel trilogy to chris nolans trilogy

3 - batman Rip and battle of the cowl
set up with the right director and cast member could this story be brought to life.

These are just a few of the continuations to the batman legacy.

I want it to start with him being Bats... and do clayface, or killer croc or someone outlandish so we can see Bats take down a super powered threat... but idk...

I'd love to see a Dark Knight Returns Live action movie but not yet.

I'd rather just see an original reboot that doesn't follow any specific story-line or show.

To be honest, I'd rather not see another.

Not gonna have a fourth film.

But if we have to, then either...
- Start a Cinematic Universe with World's Finest.
OR
- Put Batman in the 50s, bring in more colorful villains, and a Sin City noir style.

If they reboot Bats then as long as his wearing a grey and black themed costume.

If not, then do what Despero said,
"

I say introduce other villains and mafia in Gotham. Then make a JLA movie; then introduce Robin (Dick) and then Jason then base the movie with when he met Batman then Death in the Family. Then another story, A Lonely Place Of Dying, then introduce Tim, then make another JLA movie, then let them continue Batman's saga and then introduce other members of the bat-family.... BOOM THE END!

A reboot, WITHOUT an origin movie.

Everyone know how Batman became Batman. Just start the next movie with Bats having been Bats already for a few years, and toss us some well done versions of Croc, Freeze, Ivy, Clayface et all.

I would make Batman Beyond, because it would be really different from any previous movie!

@Tea
I couldnt agree more. Before all the news about TDKR I was hoping they would do a Hush story.

I know imma get some panties in a bunch but I would want them to intoduce ROBIN.

I think a trilogy with the introduction of Batmans obsession and contigency plan would be good. I think They should have Bruce face some villian that pushes him to the max and makes him darker and more brooding to the point where Alfred questions his sanity. At the end of such movie Bats questions his mortality and thinks of the future. Alfred gets Bruce to go relax at the end of the movie by going to the circus because his mother loved them. The tragidy happens again for Richard Grayson and reminds him the initial reason he became what he is.

The second movie should be at least 2 or 3 years later and we can tell that Robin has grown and is ready for field work. Batman faces a villian he cannot defeat himself and finally puts Robin in the field where he impresses. Time passes in this movie showing that Robin can act without bruce and starts the rift between them. This movie ends with Nightwings birth and Jason stealing the tires off the batmobile (not tumbler).

The third movie should be akin to War Games in which Bats has to trust Robin and Nightwing to protect the entire city. Similar to how Steph dies at the end of War Games Jason is killed by Joker who started the war.

I dont know if I wanna introduce any Batgirls but they can prove useful to portray the team hes trying to build having specialties. Oracle probably before Batgirl.

I just thought this up while posting but mainly I just wanna get to Nightwing, RedHood and Red Robin.

I'd like either a TDKReturns/Batman Beyond series, or reboot in a decade within a DC cinematic universe. I also wanna see Nightwing and Killer Croc on the big screen.

I'd say, if Warner Bros. is really that anxious for more Batman after Nolan's Trilogy concludes, then just create a live-action Batman television show WITH an actual budget. If Smallville proved anything, it's that superhero shows deserve a nice budget to accommodate certain things, especially with a character like Superman!

It will be at least 4 years after tdkr before we get another Batman movie.

Batman & Superman maybe? With a realistic approach. Maybe even justice league with an "avengers" scale budget.

I want to see Batman face his more unrealistic villains like Clayface, Killer Croc, and Mr. Freeze (especially him) but I don't want what Chris Nolan has done to be left behind because I love his approach tot he movies and, yes I even love Christian Bale even though his voice isn't the greatest.

Maybe we can have a semi realistic approach where it is realistic but still has an element of fantasy kind of like Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

In my opinion i would want Nolan to return for a forth batman & have The Riddler & black mask as the villains i think that would be cool.

i like your random selections of stories. they would never do a battle for the cowl movie. the story is still fairly new, and batman RIP wasn't very good in my opinion. as far as a dark knight returns movie that would be cool. and i remember frank miller saying that if zach snyder ever wanted to do that movie then he had his blessing. so if i HAD to choose between those stories i'd go with the dark knight returns. the story is amazing and it would be cool to see an old batman beating some ass and fighting superman. i was never a big fan with the batman beyond series

i'm with @frankster1028 i would love to see nolan come back, and give us some more realistic take on other vilains, but i don't think it will happen, nolan wants to move on to something else. well the Batman Beyond movie sounds good, get David Fincher as director and i'm game.

Reboot and no origin, Frank is right! Riddler needs to be done but no Black Mask, he's just a thug with a mask and in my opinion Batman should have beat him in 2 panels of his first appearance. No Robin but jump directly to a 18 or 19 yr old Nightwing.

No more origins that's for usre. I never want to see another slow-motion shooting of Wayne's parents evar again.

Jump in to an established Batman and introduce some new villains. I prefer when they take elements from different books and include them together. And idk if characters like Nightwing or the Batman Beyond story would cut it on the big screen, they are not popular enough for mainstream audiences. They should continue to do the animated features with these guys though.

first off let me say Nolan clearly had the best batman series ever!!!
and WHEN they DO or IF THEY DO REBOOT the batman series...FIRST THEY SHOULD NOT!! SHOULD NOT SHOULD NOT!!
DO CHARACTERS THAT WERE ALREADY MADE IN FILMS!!
IF THEY REBOOT IT...BRING IN NEW PEOPLE!!...KILLER CROC!!
Dead Pool/Red hood....FireFly!!! ...CLAYFACE!!!
NONE OF THE CHARACTERS WE ALREADY SEEN ON THE SLIVR SCREEN it will be boring!!
