Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman. Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open in theaters on March 25th, 2016.

Uh did they just take Man of Steel and slightly retweek it? Thought this wasn't man of steel 2?

@GoshDarnit

That was leaked a long time ago.

What happened to the other article? This is definitely Bruce Wayne's flashback of the Black Zero Event.

I swear, DC just puts out fantastic soundtracks. I'm excited to see how they do the Suicide Squad soundtrack, and Justice League.

I've already given this a few listens, absolutely fantastic.

Right at the 12 second mark it sounds like it'll be new and promising. Then Man of Steel comes right in. Such a letdown lol.

@XelCorp

It's probably the Man of Steel flashback. Bruce Wayne's recollection of the Black Zero Event. Which is why it sounds so similar, but different.

Sequels reusing tracks from the previous film!

Stop the presses!

Good point I think you're right

I know, right? People find anything to hate on. It's 90 seconds of 1 track out of an 18-track album, and yet somehow this sample means that the OST isn't "new and promising."

Yeah, obviously they're going to reuse Man of Steel material for this new soundtrack. Captain America: The Winter Solider was RADICALLY different from The First Avenger, yet still had some of the iconic themes.

This isn't anything new guys, they have to keep some sort of soundtrack identity for Superman.

Wth is that track that plays directly after? Lmao I was like "No way part of Bats V Supes"

Man, I freaking love MoS soundtrack.

Of course is a ''sequel'', what is the problem?

It makes me so happy that Bruce witnessed the Black Zero event first hand.

Like, holy shit.

@XelCorp

Exactly. From the trailers, it seems as though the flashback will cover the ENTIRE third act, from this point until the final moments of the brawl. I love how it's from Bruce's perspective, which should change it up while also showing the impact of the World Engine on the people on the ground, which is something we didn't really get a lot of in Man of Steel. I think its brilliant, because it may help to rectify the very impersonal nature of the Metropolis destruction in MOS, which I gather is a big part of the criticism of it being "mindless."

And hopefully it will get rid of the silly charges that Superman destroyed half of Metropolis. He and Zod certainly did a lot of damage, but nothing near the amount of damage the World Engine did.

So glad they are still continuing with the Man of Steel music. That's why TDK Trilogy, Raimi Spider-Man, and X-Men have memorable music. I hate when franchises just start fresh with the music.

Harkens back to MoS yet is operatic. I love it... this is the music that should have been in the previous trailer.

@BatmanHeisenberg Yeah, but they didn't use a lot of it. Only in the museum and flashback parts. That was one of the disappointing things about The Winter Soldier soundtrack to me. I loved the new themes, but I wish they had incorporated Cap's TFA theme a bit more. His new theme was too modern, and the old theme would have helped to audibly depict the fact that at his core, Cap's still a man out of time.

I'm glad Zimmer is bringing back the BEST theme from Man of Steel though. Hands down favorite tracks from MOS are the Black Zero themes.
DerekLake
DerekLake - 1/15/2016, 3:24 PM
@Platinum

This is mostly Zimmer. If I recall JunkieXL only worked on the Batman themes. A prominent part of the film, no doubt, but still a limited portion.

I too haven't been a fan of much of Zimmer's recent work (especially the godawful TASM 2 soundtrack), but all of Zimmer's Kryptonian themes in MOS were amazing. Miles better than the Earth/Kansas themes.
