THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS Creator Frank Miller Weighs In On Ben Affleck's Batman
The always outspoken Frank Miller has shared his thoughts on Ben Affleck's take on the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but does he approve of Zack Snyder's take on the character?
Despite his brutal methods upsetting some sensitive fans, both the good and bad reviews for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice praised Ben Affleck's take on Bruce Wayne (hence why Warner Bros. is so keen to get that solo movie into development). However, what did Frank Miller - the writer and artist who so heavily influenced the movie through The Dark Knight Returns - think of this version?
Talking at MegaCon 2016 in Orlando this weekend, Miller wouldn't be dragged into sharing his thoughts on the mixed reception to the movie, but did mention that, "I was rooting for Batman." Saying that Ben Affleck and Warner Bros. are more than welcome to call him for his input on The Batman, the comic book creator went on to praise the actor's take on the character. "I liked it, he’s a good actor. I mean, he’s obviously very, very close to this material and plays it with great affection."
Do you agree with Miller's assessment? He certainly knows a lot about Batman after penning tales like Year One, All-Star Batman and Robin, and The Dark Knight Returns, and it will be interesting to see if future movies borrow from his work. As always, let us know your thoughts in the usual place.
