We'd hoped that the first Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer would arrive in time for Thor: Love and Thunder's release in theaters, but it now appears as if it's being saved for Comic-Con next weekend. Hopefully, the footage will shed some light on what to expect, especially as the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman means T'Challa won't be part of this story.
A new Black Panther is expected to be revealed, though who will inherit the mantle is a mystery.
Shuri is a likely choice on the surface, especially as the character ultimately donned the suit in the comic books. Unfortunately, Letitia Wright's divisive opinions shared on social media have made her something of an unpopular choice for the role, with recent rumours suggesting another character will now be chosen to pick up where T'Challa left off.
Could it be Lupita Nyong'o's Nakia?
Some new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever merchandise highlights the sequel's female leads, and T'Challa's old flame is rocking a very cool costume. You'll also notice that Riri Williams is included here, though she's decked out in her Mark I "homemade" Ironheart armour.
Something tells us that will be featured heavily in tie-in material, with her final suit of armour likely saved for the end of the movie or the upcoming Ironheart Disney+ series (we're sure Shuri will lend a helping hand in creating a more advanced version given Wakanda's role in creating Captain America's new suit).
The final Marvel Studios movie of 2022 remains the most intriguing, and we hope to have more to share with you from the Black Panther sequel soon. Promo art recently confirmed that Tenoch Huerta is playing Namor the Submariner, though the character's redesigned costume has proved to be surprisingly controversial among comic book fans.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters on November 11.
