Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson recently confirmed that cameras are now rolling on the DC Comics adventure, and we have word on another last-minute casting addition.

Following the news that up-and-coming Canadian-Egyptian actor Bodhi Sabongui has joined the ensemble in a mysterious role, Deadline reports that stand-up comedian Mohammed "Mo" Amer will also appear in the Warner Bros./New Line production. Details on his character are being kept under wraps, however.

Amer is probably best known for his Netflix comedy special Mo Amer: The Vagabond as well as Hulu's acclaimed sitcom Ramy. He's also one-third of the comedy troupe Allah Made Me Funny, and is set to appear in the upcoming comedy feature Americanish.

Amer joins previously announced cast members Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone and Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, aka Isis. Marwan Kenzari and James Cusati-Moyer are also on board.

Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra is set to helm Black Adam, which has Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions on board as producers along with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani penned the screenplay, which is based off an early story draft from Adam Sztykiel.

We recently got our first look at some sets being constructed in Georgia, but we'll hopefully get to see more revealing photos now that filming is underway.

Black Adam is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2022.

I'm not saying it will happen, but because the Black Adam movie is embracing the Middle East, I wonder if there is a chance we might get to see Ra's Al Ghul.

Even a small cameo of him would be great, because we know he has been alive for thousands of years and I have to imagine Ra's Al Ghul would know of Teth Adam.

Plus maybe then we can finally get a Middle Eastern actor to play him too.

@BlackIceJoe - A middle eastern actor played him in Gotham.

@soberchimera - You are right, Alexander did play him, plus is who I've always wanted to play him, but I should have said on the big screen instead.

Because how I wrote my comment completely negates that he has appeared, but unfortunately the general public thinks he is white, because of the big screen and maybe you could have Ra's Al Ghul in Black Adam to be a tease for the second Matt Reeves Batman movie.

@BlackIceJoe - Ra’s isn’t usually portrayed as ancient Egypt old though. He’s pretty young by immortal standards.

@OmegaBlack13 - - I could have sworn I remember reading about him fighting in the Babylonian wars.

So I always thought he was around 4 thousand or so years.

Please feel free to correct me, but I thought I remember him having gone through hundreds if not thousands of Ubu's. Ubu being the name he gives to his right hand man, who becomes his personal guard.

If I'm wrong, I apologies, I just thought I remember him being thousands of years old and just stays young because of the Lazarus pits.

@BlackIceJoe - I think you have Ra's confused with Vandal Savage.

@Battabing - I can see why you think that is who I was meaning, but no I am thinking of Ra's Al Ghul.

Vandal Savage in the DC mythology was born at the beginning of mankind, which is over 100,000 years ago.

It is difficult to know what is what, with DC comic always changing what is or isn't canon.

So it is very possible Ra's Al Ghul isn't as old as I thought.

That being said I'd have no problem with a Vandal Savage tease too.

@BlackIceJoe - Ra's is usually said to be "over 600 years" old so I guess there's leeway but I tend to imagine he's likely not older than the Arabic language, so maybe 1500 at most.

Nice addition. Ramy is a great show. The actor who plays the father was in WW84.

Happy the last couple of castings have been middle east actors my only gripe(mind you its minor) is I wish they were of a darker skin tone. There are a plethora of darker skin Middle East actors that are more deserving, but again that is my only issue otherwise keep em coming
