EW has just unveiled the cover for its special SDCC double issue, and it provides a new glimpse at three of the main characters from Marvel and director Ryan Coogler's upcoming Black Panther movie.

Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia is described as "a covert agent whose job is to stifle word of Wakanda’s secrets, hunting down its enemies with deadly force," while this take on Michael B. Jordan's villainous Killmonger will be "a dissident from the country and aspiring prince who has colluded with a hostile foreign adversary in a bid to bring down the rightful heir to Wakanda’s throne."

Finally, of course, we have the King of Wakanda himself, T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), who needs no introduction.

“In this movie, a lot like politics, it’s a little tricky to define who’s [a good guy],” Coogler explains. “The film very much plays with those concepts, looking at conflicts and different motivations, and who’s with who.”

Check out the cover along with some new stills - one of which features the entire cast - below, and be sure to keep an eye on CBM for more Black Panther coverage later today.

I've been waiting for this most of my life. I always was a Black Panther fan growing up but didn't know he was a Marvel character until Ultimate Avengers 2 animated film, and he's been deserving of a film for quite some time. The Panther lore and world is so amazing. This is a dream come true for me and I'm going to do my best to hold back tears watching it on the big screen

Mind you, I was a child with limited resources for a lot of comics growing up outside of X-Men, Spider-Man and Batman! I wasn't heavy into comics until right before/during middle school which is when the Ultimate Avengers film came out

@ThePanther - Are you really a fan of Marvel's fake Batman?

I'm just messing with you lol This movie is gonna be great. It's gonna show everyone that Marvel can also make a serious movie.

Did you know that before 2001, the origins of Captain America's round Vibranium shield were never explained? Not for 60 years. And then it was finally revealed that King T'Chaka had met Steve Rogers in 1941 and had given him a sample of Vibranium. Steve gave T'Chaka his triangular shield as a thank you, and it's supposed to be, to this day, in the royal palace in Birnin Zana. I wouldn't be surprised if they used it as an easter egg in the movie. Cap brought back the sample to the US and some time later, President Franklin Roosevelt gave him his round Vibranium shield :)

Also, be sure to check A Nation Under Our Feet, Ta-Nehisi Coates's run on Black Panther. It's really good.

Cover could have been better but Lupita Nyong’o’s beauty makes up for it.
