Black Widow is fast approaching, and while the movie being set between the events of
Captain America: Civil War and
Avengers: Infinity War means we're unsure of just how much this adventure will tease what comes next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there's a lot of excitement surrounding the big screen debut of Taskmaster.
Now, thanks to an upcoming action figure featuring the character's likeness, we get our best look yet at a costume which has definitely divided fans of his comic book counterpart.
It's definitely going to be interesting seeing what kind of role he plays in proceedings, and whether he's someone Marvel Studios has future plans for. After all, Taskmaster has fought many heroes in the comic books, and these images point to him possibly having once crossed paths with Black Panther!

In the comic books, Taskmaster has the ability to copy the moves of any opponent he faces (or watches).
That could explain why he has a shield, but seeing as Red Guardian also has one, it's possible that he's borrowed that particular skill from Natasha Romanoff's old Russian ally.
That mask isn't the greatest, but Taskmaster's costume certainly isn't all bad. There's a lot here that does work, and it's a credit to Marvel Studios that they found a way to pay homage to both his skull mask and the hood he wears.
We don't know who is playing him yet, but O. T. Fagbenle is said to be a top contender!
Those claws look pretty familiar, don't you think?
If Taskmaster is indeed played by O. T. Fagbenle, it's possible he's Wakandan, but equally as likely that he crossed paths with either T'Challa or T'Chaka at some point in the past.
That gun is pretty cool, and we can probably expect Taskmaster to be an expert marksman as well as an expert hand to hand fighter.
The trailers have revealed that Taskmaster fights both Black Widow and Red Guardian, leading to speculation that either Melina Vostokoff or Yelina Belova is beneath the mask.
Believe it or not, the fact Taskmaster is wielding a bow and arrow has led to speculation that Hawkeye is actually wearing this suit.
That makes absolutely no sense, and it's actually far more likely that he's simply copied Clint Barton's moves in a bid to use them against Natasha Romanoff in this adventure.
Those goggles haven't been particularly well-received, but there's clearly a lot going on behind them, and a lot more to this villain than we initially suspected.
Could it be that he's been augmented with technology in some way?
That's definitely more than just a mask, and the "backpack" Taskmaster appears to be wearing is also interest. Is it possible that it's some sort of jetpack, or does he have wings like Falcon?
That remains to be seen, but he's going to be rocking a lot of different weapons and gadgets.
This battle is going to be a lot of fun, and while Black Widow's story in the MCU ended in
Avengers: Endgame, it's going to be a lot of fun seeing her in action again in this solo adventure.
Based on what little we've seen of the action scenes, this movie will be firing on all cylinders.
